View Full Version : Elixirs that last for a fixed XP gain

I do not buy elixirs except in very rare occasions. In fact, last night was the only time I have ever bought one. Since they are based on time, I would need to make sure that for the duration of the elixir I have a low % chance of disconnecting and I have a high % chance of playing in a full game with competent people who are going to work with me the entire time. Last night was the only time that has ever happened for me. I was at home on my wife's iPad, she fell asleep a bit early, and I was 100% sure there would be no interruption for 30 minutes. Also, two high level people had expressed interest in helping me level. I bought my elixir and had a blast.

For me, this does not happen often. My game time is rarely planned and even more rarely lasts for 30 minutes. I do not want to buy elixirs because I will feel that they are wasted. Here is my proposed solution:

Create a "dumpster punch" type elixir that works on the next X experience gained. So you spend your platinum and then until you gain X experience you have the full array of increased attributes. The elixirs would have ZERO effect if you fought in an area where you could not gain experience, but they would not fade either. The way to come up with a good value of X would be to figure out the optimum experience gained by the "perfect" farming group in 30 minutes and then figure out the amount of experience one could gain by soloing for 30 minutes and set X to halfway between. This way there is still motivation to buy duration based elixirs for the truly hardcore, but then people who don't have the time and friends to form such a group can gain more experience over the life of the elixir than they would if they just bought one and solo'd hoping for the best.

Although I don't really see that ever being implemented, I like the idea :)
