View Full Version : Duel spec conundrum!?

Ive done some research and with new cap being 61and the stat point system only giving 5 point/lvl, we duel spec will not be able to equip Void/Rift/Cosmos set as a full equiptable loadout! My stats being 142dex/142 str +(25points) equally is 152/152 at 60..not enough to equip..!? Am I missing something ?

That's good, I hate dual specs.
All this double spec stuff is just dumb nonsense, basically breaking the game.

Well at 154 to start helm loadout save of Void/Rift/Cosmos we will only be able duel spec save at 61!

I am sorry if you do not agree with or understand the concept of dual specing, but to make this comment is disrespectful to those who have spent time adding a new component to the game. Those of us who use dual specing actually see the benefits and if there were no benefits, so many people would refrain from the practice.
Please take more time to think before making these types of posts.
As for the op, it will be interesting to see what the new gear requirements will be and how they will effect dual specing.

@whirlz I would have quit a while back had it not been for the ability to dual spec. it makes the game richer for me.
@bgandyful, doesn't this all depend on the requirements of the new gear, which nobody has seen yet?

@bgandyful, doesn't this all depend on the requirements of the new gear, which nobody has seen yet? no it s realivent now because we know stat staight line at 5point equalled out we dont make the 154 stat req AO3 gear to equip helm to start a new booster set(s). Im not saying we cant equip cause as you said we dont know new stat requirments but thays no relevent to what im saying. Im talking about saving booster sets? And the realization "Elite 61" will be how its done.

I figured it out. Your going to need Osiris. Level 40 Osiris, preferably. Also, you will need Horus. Level 40 Horus, preferably. Then, instead of 155/155. Make it 155/152. The extra 4 points from Osiris should be able to let you wear your gear. Problem solved? Of course, the Osiris and Horus can be either strength or dex. It's still possible, just not as cheap as previously.

Well, my current booster sets as a 55 are the shadow caves items, and a alien oasis helm. Even if we can't equip the whole set by then,we can just manually equip a helm. That, or start mixing up lv50 with lv55 gear at lv60.

Just put on your crown of persistence and it will give u 14 dex, str, int.

Yeah it might be tricky, but like Yanis said, it would depend on the new gear though. Double tap boosters might be needed, we'll see :)

I wouldn't draw any conclusions on how lv60/61 duel speccing will work until we see the actual gear and requirements and do actual testing. We may not need full Rift/Void/Cosmos sets, or (however unlikely) the new gear could have high requirements making duel speccing difficult.

This is why I pushed so hard to get my Dex & Str crowns :) I only dual spec on my bear and my crowns already make that super easy! I can't wait till level cap increase!!!
And on a side note I really think we should be able to purchase additional loadouts with Plat :banana:

You don't need a 50/50 (or close to that) distribution of points to dual spec. Right now I'm 135 dex and 148 int, and still can go Custom RR, Enchanted MM, Hybrid Int/Dex-Bird. And I don't think we need lv 40 pinks to boost what lv 45 pinks already do, because we can wear lv 45 items from nothing/naked. Let's see what items will be available and then we'll discuss :cool:

Seriously tho that bug tripped me out when I first stumbled on it. I restated to 130str and even with my booster on I was still 9str points short for the 173 but for some reason able to equip full fortified set (through loadouts only)

Wait is a double booster Two loadouts appropriate to equip your loadout of choice? So then wouldnt we need 6 Loadout slots?

@ Ellyidol. Your right but, we can speculate on new gear,givin current equipment stat curve and the range of stats that allow duel to work Id say in the range of 188/193 will be stats for new equipment.But Im Wrong everyday we will have to see

I don't think he's being disrespectful. He's just giving his opinion on it.
There are plenty of things I don't like about duel speccing, particularly how it's generally pointless on a bird. Mages are very effective duel speccing Dexchantress/Mage or Paladin/Mage, and a Tank/Bowbear Ursan is extremely useful, as they all use mixed stats. But when duel speccing as a bird, your Archer mode is extremely hindered by the Str you pumped inti yourself to wear Str gear. I love being a Warbird, but Avians are far more effective either being just a Warbird or a pure Dex berserker.
But I'm getting more into the nature of Dexterity and how other stats are useless to birds... In general, I think duel speccing is both extremely useful and fun. :)
