It would be nice to have a counter for the new apps (killing 100 elite bosses, 500 etc ) it's being kept up with anyway but just a visual representation of it would keep us more motivated if we knew how close or how far away we were to our goals. ###/100 or ###/500 or just a single count as with flags.

A counter also allows for better organization of parties among guildies or friends who might wanna work on APs together.

Yes please, it gets quite frustrating when you've been running for hours and you lose track of how many boss/mob kills you have D:

Sadly, this was already answered by Remiem:
Q: Can we get a counter of our kills so we can track our progress?
A: This isn't a feature that is currently built in to our achievement system, but this is definitely something we'll take into consideration for the future.
