The latest patch went very badly on my Droid X. When I started PL, it asked how I wanted to update. I chose "market", and it was all down hill from there. The following is a list of problems that I found with this patch.
(1) After the game patch installed, when I first ran PL, the skill buttons were
very responsive. It was great for a couple hours, but then the buttons started
slowing down, pausing, and becoming less reliable. Now, it's back to the way
it was before the patch, there are periods of time when i can't click a skill
button.
(2) Somehow I lost the keyboard entry popup window. I tried to drop some
potions off in my stash, but could not see the keyboard. I could still type
numbers by pressing where the keyboard should be. The keyboard never
came back for any data entry field. I killed the app, restarted, cleared the
data, nothing would help except reinstalling.
(3) Once the screen re-sized itself, and the lower part was clipped so that
only the top half of the potions was showing.
(4) Once, when I tried to start PL, I got a black screen. I could not
kill the app because it was permanently black, and the phone home key
wasn't working. I turned off my phone and turned it back on. When I tried to
run PL, I found that the app was gone. Somehow it got uninstalled.
(5) I reinstalled PL, and started doing keeper runs. I was in the room
just before keeper, and i picked up the orange orb. I killed aliens
across the room towards the purple orb. I still had the orange orb
when I walked over to the purple orb. As soon as I picked up the purple
orb, the game crashed. As a test, I logged back in and did the same run.
I picked up the orange orb, and then the purple orb while fighting aliens.
Again, as soon as I picked up the purple orb, the game crashed.
(6) I just went to Settings "Manage Apps" on my Droid X to view the installed apps.
Pocket Legends is not listed as an app on my phone. However, I do have the
PL startup icon on my main screen, and it does start the app. I guess PL is
now a hidden app, which I didn't know was possible with a droid.
(7) I logged in. At the character selection window, I selected a different
character. The game immediately crashed when I selected the other character.
Now, when I try to log it, it crashes immediately when it gets the character
selection screen. I guess I have to re-install, again.
(8) I opened "Market" --> Settings --> My apps. Selected PL, pressed Uninstall,
answered the screen prompts. And, nothing happens. I can't uninstall it.
Market search bring up the same PL entry, but it says it's already installed.
So, now I can't reinstall it or uninstall it.
Current state of my PL: Can't run it, can't uninstall it, can't reinstall it.
I guess I have to wait for the next patch. At which time I can do a factory
reset of my phone and try again. Unless anyone has a bright idea about
how I can uninstall this thing?
