What is mana shield?

On the skill Magic Shield, what does teh Mana Shield portion mean? What does it do?

When you take damage, it will subtract from available mana instead of health.

@register, it's 30 seconds, not one minute. On-topic: it can be broken by blast shot, where you will take no damage from the blast shot but your shield will dissappear.

Be sure to have some mana pots ready - a mana shield will not withstand sustained attacks and can quickly deplete your mana reserves. You don't want to find yourself in a situation where you're out of mana and losing health fast.

One tip, dont put more than 1 point into the spell because as you rank it up, it gives a sight armor boost. Those 5 points could be used for a spell more helpful to other team members rather then a selfish and very little armor boost.

Not really it's less than a 10% armor buff at the cost of 6 points

Yes, your mana will run out just when you would really need the heal spell. :D

yeah but in ENDGAME u have maxed out pretty much all ur skills. So with points to spare, then throw it in the shield! :p

Eh I'd rather they go to 10 on skills it would create some interesting builds. Going to 7 would still leave us with little in variety. Side note even at END GAME there are better options for those extra skill points IMO

Well, before Stomp's post I would have said that this comment is inevitable. But there's still some who don't even bother putting 1 skill point into it. I think mine has about 3 points in it now lol. I use it so much. I never knew how much I appreciated my mana shield until I got to Balefort Sewers. :)

I got mana shield at zero at level 57... Main reason is my own noobiness, I forget to turn it on and then once mob/boss is dead: BAM mana shield! So I'd rather put the points in the other skills.

No I just don't like the way PvP works in PL. Don't get me wrong, in my opinion PL is by far the best portable game available today but I like PvP to be long matches including a lot of strategy and tactics and I am simply not satisfied with it in it's current state. Just a question of taste really...

I agree not to be that guy but pvp was much more fun when a 1v1 would last 2-3 minutes (had an AO2 bear fight go on for 15 minutes!) now it's go! And flash of skills and the person with the lowest ping wins

I guess that ping-thing is kind of true, but not always.. :/ , I know that my ping spikes a lot and it's average is about 400-600 in PvP, but I can still kill people with better ping then me... 55-60, however, I've stopped trying to play, because there's no real... Skill. Lol. People say "The set doesn't make you, you make the set!" ... But that's a bunch of BS lol! I've beaten one or two Glyph staff sets with my Mega Mage wand set, but that only happens if I get drain after them.. ;/ , So anyway. I know that 55 tank gear vs tank gear use to last a while? Hm..
