Just wondering if you guys had any plans for Ellie/other vendors to sell potions that give higher health/mana, for higher the gold/platinum price.

Hmmm that would be unfair cause you get rich and have waay more health than someone near it would also upset the balance

Dude, not up the actual health. To give you more hp/ mana, like a pot does.

F.E. Lesser hp potion (gives 50-150), medium hp potion (gives 150-300), greater hp potion (gives 300-500).

Edit: Unfair to rich? I'm sure they wouldn't be made into a gold sink. Upset balance? Not at all.

Lesser potions and greater potions. Most games have that, nothing imbalanced as long as they're both buyable with gold.

Exactly, as long as they are both obtainable through gold.

I don't see the imbalance even if it's not buyable with gold. It's just higher healing ability in PvE, nothing special. Nothing you can't do by spamming your pots for 1 second.

To further elaborate, the current price for health/mana potions that heal approximately 30% of your health/mana is 1500 gold for 100. Health/mana potions that heal 50% of your health/mana could be purchased at 3000 gold for 100. Or for a more equivalent gold: potion ratio, potions that heal 60% could be purchased at 3000 gold for 100 (but this would defeat the purpose of buying any 30% potions altogether, which is why some games do have a higher gold: potion price for the "greater potions" than the "lesser potions").

Gold is something you can obtain easily through the game. Plat is something you can obtain, but in shorter bunches. Ex. 1 download ='s 1 plat, with about 1-5 options a day ='s unfair.

How would display be with two additional pot spots? My screen seems pretty full at the moment. How could lesser and greater pots be laid out so you don't accidentally hit greater when you only wanted lesser and are like "doh!"

Personally I don't care greater or lesser as my main is bear and I'm content with stats, but as a mage or bird I can see the benefits...that extra boost from greater could be just enough to get you through a few seconds until party recovers.

So, where would they go? I have ideas but I'm curious of others.

On my Galaxy S phone, I see some space in-between the potions and the last row of skill buttons - a button can be placed here that "switches out" between lesser and greater potions.

I think that the lesser pots are fine the way they are. There should be no modifications to how they work, but the greater pot is interesting.

One idea for the greater pots is that one pot will replenish your hp/mana in full no matter how low they are. It will end pot spamming, except in really tight situations. Of course, these pots shouldn't be easily acquired; maybe 5x the price, if not more.

On the downside, the screen is getting really cluttered, especially for phones.

Physiologic is a gold standard in forum posts.

But I also question the need for larger potions. When I first leveled up in sewers I could not click health potions fast enough to not die... But I have evolved and now only play off of health potion drops.

So I guess there is a potential need for these greater potions.. But I still dont see an actual need for them.

I was actually thinking a bit ahead of schedule - when the next end-game campaigns come out, I think potion-mashing might be even more crucial for survival. It wasn't too terrible post-nerf-AO3-wise, but I really started to mash my pots as an archer at Sewers (since I try to keep my kd ratio high). Of course, this is all speculation - but if there were an option to buy more expensive potions that heals a bit more than the current potions, I'd certainly purchase them even if their gold: potion ratio was lower.

And yes pwnpear...I've been on hiatus for a couple of months now :)

Definitely not necessary but a nice addition if added. I LOVE attack's idea of selling pots that fully replenish health/mana no matter where your current level is. The price, as previously stated, would have to be a lot higher than reg. Price for "normal" pots. Maybe also you could only carry 25 at any given time??

I think it's a great idea. If it ever gets implemented, I only pray it's not going to be plat only :/

I think that all of us would complain so much that they'd make them able to be purchased with gold. Anyways, they learned their lesson with elixirs (I hope) when the whole forum rebelled.
