Of course caution should be taken, even if they are your in game 'friend'. Players get to know each other and become friends on FB (which goes way beyond names). Players can msg each other through this forum safer than giving up other info.

I've done volunteer work dealing with internet predators and they are so unbelievably manipulative.

True zera... true. Friend of mine is a cop here in vegas and he poses as a 13 year old girl online to catch predators. Its UNBELIEVABLE the amount of pervs out there that are interested in that sort of thing... truly nuts...

I did phone verifications - the voice behind the other person pretending to be the kid. I was given parts of conversations and how nice and normal they began. You just never know...

My bestest buddy knows my full name and email, but that's it and he's not talking. :) Different for me--I'm an adult and it's easier for me to either talk to authorities or handle my own problems.
