Please bear with me as I try to ask this question. I don't pay much attention to the mechanics of the game, so I may not be using accurate names for stuff.

I have an archer. I have a magic skill, mana regen I think it is called. It is the icon that looks like an upside-down golden acorn. When I use this skill, does it quicken the regeneration of the the magic I used (the blue bar) or does it shorten the time I have to wait between using skills? Or both?

I've tried to watch and figure it out but I can't tell.

Meditation restores some of your lost mana. Be careful, though, because it takes a little bit of mana in order to use Meditation. In other words, don't wait until you're actually out of mana before you use it! The general advice is to max out Meditation as soon as you can, and then relentlessly spam it every time the skill is available. (In other words, every time the Meditation skill isn't on a cooldown period.) If you do so, you will probably never need another mana potion again....

Meditation does nothing for your cooldown periods. It only restores mana.

Thank you Jim and Richie. I got it. I didn't max out meditation, but I still have some levels to gain. It's not too late.

Yeah meditation is a must have spell .. I have that and restore maxed out and I currently don't use pots anymore in pve but to do that is a very hard task and requires you to play very sniper like making sure that there is never threat on you ! But alass It dosent work all the times and can be a major downfall not using pots as I currently have 830 deaths .. Woopsie :)

Absolutely invest 1 rank in Meditation ASAP. I find maxing other skills is more important, but once you've maxed out Focus, Evasion, and Break Armor, you can go back to pumping Meditation. But that one rank is critical, and as noted, spam it every time you can if your mana isn't at max. More mana = more skills, and skills make the Archer. Keeping Focus up as often as possible and firing off Blast Shot fairly regularly is trivial if you're keeping that mana up.

As far as I know, nothing affects the cooldown period for skills. So be sure to manage the critical ones so that you're not stuck waiting for them to be available after a big fight has started!

I just went and look at what I've done with my bird. My memory sucks.

Currently level 22. I don't dungeon crawl regularly.

I have
Meditation 2
Restore 2
Focus 1
Blast shot 5 I like this one
Avian scream 4
Thorn root 5 I like this one too
Evasion 1
Blinding shot 1

1050 kills
55 deaths... I'm not too shabby!

I would max out health regen first, then mana regen. :)

No point, really. Avians are glass cannon. You're either completely healthy or you're dead. I don't see a lot of inbetween with my Avian Archer.

Restore is a nice skill, and I'm not trying to knock it. But I believe that Meditation is more important for Avians.

Drop all but one point in avian scream and use those
elsewhere

Also dropp all but one in thorn root. Use those extra eight skills in either meditation or restore or preferably evasion (you want to MAX this) if your dodging hits then you dont need potions

Didn't know I could drop points.

You would have to purchase a respec to do that

Thanks for all the advice, everyone! I'm going to work on boosting my meditation and evade.
