Suggestion on doing a paladin build to start from level one..

Im a level 19 full in mage that bought the premuim character... I starter yesterday... But when I saw a paladin using an axe and shield.. I know he was at a high level already but the damage of a mage and the armor of a bear just made me crazy and i wanted to try...

So if there any suggestion on what to do... It would greatly be appreciated... And thanks in advance...
