Weapon / DPS ID help

About a week ago, I noticed a 55 bear running in goblin tunnels using a lvl 50 crossbow. Before mocking him publicly, I thought I'd check his stats, and noticed with rage on, he was doing over 400 dps!!! Even after rage died down he was doing 300+. So, I asked which it was. I thought he said Elegant Arbolest of Fortune, but I'm just not positive. Either way, I went down to CS, found one and once equipped on my bear, I saw much lower lower #'s, that closely resembled what you'd expect to find out of lvl 50 gear. Anyone know what he was using? What lvl 50 AUTOBOW could possibly have unbuffed 300+ dps??

Pure dex and a recurve maybe, not sure on a crossbow.

maybe additional rings or crowns that add dps? i know my dps is over 300 but i use a recurve lol

the weapon he is using is called mystery bow. he was probably all sparkly. means hes using full mystery set. the dps of the bow is bout 300. its is obtained from a quest. if u need help getting it i can farm wit u will u get.

Bingo, sounds right. I remember the mystery dex set having huge DPS, furthermore if he had rage on and full dex.

Very possible :) Dex bear?

3 normal attack crits from a dex bear could usually bring down a soft bird/mage, so a beckon + 2 attacks could do the trick.

Purple hat/armor, dmg ring, mystery bow give my bear (half dex/str) a dps of 316 I think but 401 with rage on.
Dont c any xbow doing that.

Guys!! I said it was a level 50 crossbow! He confirmed it was a lvl 50, and what makes it unique was the fact it was a crossbow! not a recurve, or a mystery bow. I know my gear better than that... Just not this good :)

BTW, like how I capitalized AUTOBOW yet it seems to have made no difference :P

Just had a drop Pink elegant arbalest of fortune.
Had 280 dps with my dual. If full dex should be well over 300+ so its possible around 400 with rage.

High DPS dose not mean he doing great DMG ,fight low armor mobs high DPS work fine , but when you fight high armor mobs in sewer ，especially on the boss fight , high dps (low weapon DMG) is doing like nothing (maybe can kill some bins or attack totems and chests)

also as a bear we don't have much rang spell (shot) , also bow or crossbow didn't add any dmg on our Slash , it is hard to say dex gear bear doing good dmg as same as bird in same gear .

a Crossbow has better rang then bow , it's good in PvP , but in PvE , a bow are much better then a crossbow at most time , i have mystery bow set and i am duel bear , in that set i got over 300 dps , but dmg are not that good , in lvl50 weapon Gurgox hammer of the rift are the best DMG weapon , that is what a str bear really need a slow weapon with great DMG not fast weapon with high DPS , that hammer still the beat melee weapon in game so far ......

so next time when yo sew that bear , don't call out he is a noob , we need play nice , but he maybe is a noob just keep it in your mind ,ok ;)

I'm sorry buddy, but a crossbow doing 300 dps is still a very damaging weapon no matter how you slice it. A crossbow isn't a dagger (high dps but a worthless item IMO), a crossbow is the best ranged weapon, and it has to be doing a boatload of damage when rage brings your dps to over 400. I know its not elegant arbolest of fortune, my dual bear was only pulling low 200's with it.

Agreed, if a crossbow indeed has 300-400+ DPS, that's huge!

That's what makes me question though, 300-400 DPS, even with Rage on, sounds like it's a pretty fast weapon, yet crossbows have one of the slowest speeds in the game..

Will check more when I get on later :)

My dual bear with my gear setup (purple dex lvl55 hat/armor + dmg ring) is doing 280 dps with that 'pink arbolest of fortune' WITHOUT rage!
You r doing 200... thats 80 LESS??? :eek:

With my 'mystery bow' I do 316 dps rage off (401 rage on). So its not so far.

EDIT:
Here r my numbers,
Mystery bow
201 - 241 -> 316 dps
261 - 301 -> 401 dps
(85 dps gained with rage on)

Arbalest of fortune
159 - 163 -> 280 dps
219 - 223 -> 384 dps
(104 dps gained with rage on)

So a full dex bear would reach well over 300 dps rage off since dex ADD a lot more dmg and be at 400+ rage on.

My bear shows 267 DPS with my Custom Recurve, but with 50 crit the "average damage per second" peaks 400 unbuffed. If I switch to full Mystery set the DPS goes up to 309 but crit drops to 13, that means 349 "average damage per second" unbuffed. DPS separated by crit has no meaning.

<edit> And Elegant Arbalest of Fortune damage is 91-95 with 0.6 speed, that means about 155 DPS from weapon, my guess is 220-230 DPS final. Probably it was another weapon.

there is lot of weapon in game can boot dps up to 300 , fast one hand at most , is that mean high dps do better dmg ? answer is NO !!!

trash mob in sewer has 50+ armor ; mini boss 80~90 , boss got 110+ (queen got more like 150+ armor) : let's see those weapon's dmg in one min on mini boss fight (auto attack , non crit,unbuff)

Elegant Arbalest of Fortune damage is 91-95 with 0.6 speed , with mix lv50 gear ：

(95 - 90(mob armor)) * (60 sec % 0.6(weapon speed) )= 5 * 100 = 500 .............. that's it :D

full Mystery set on my lv53 duel bear ，Speed 0.7 ，DMG 195~235 ，dps :308 (unbuff) ,crit 13 .... 255~295 DMG , 393 DPS ,43% crit after selfbuff :

(235 -90) * (60 % 0.7） = 145 * 86 = 12470 ........ much better :p

full customized gemstone recurve set on my full dex bird : 0.9 speed ,DMG 224 ~ 269 ,DPS 290, crit 50% (80%after buff , bird don't have + dmg buff) :

（269 -90） * (60 % 0.9 )= 179 * 67 = 11993 ....... NOT BAD :banana: :banana::banana:


that just a auto shot test , plus crit and spell （more weapon DMG also increase your skill power) , customized gemstone recurve set done way more dmg then all out dex gear .

in most mmo game there is DPS (Dmg pre sec) and DPH (dmg pre hit ) , DPS on your Avatar like nothing to do with you dmg , it is more like dmg on a 0 armor target , and weapon dmg is what you really need keep your eye on , cuz that is what your dmg are and that is also effect your spell dmg .

2h weapon deal more dmg then 1h , bow do better then crossbow in pve , that is the truth ！

check CS , see the price vs bow and crossbow , you will find out in the same lvl bow cost more then crossbow at most time , for end game gear : Raid Roach recurve 's price are cost 10~20 times more then a Raid roach crossbow , and that also is the truth ！

so next time if you saw a player hide at behind auto fight with a 1h rang weapon or crossbow (other then cockroach' fight after bin Re-Spawn ,or tank got gold fever) ,just boot them ,cuz they are doing absolutely nothing ! ! !

Ok, for starters, I said LOW 200s. I just checked and my dual dex bear pulled 227 (low 200's) dps. With rage it went to 316 or close to it. My bear is in custom gear, so if you were in henchmans you'd get some higher. I tried the arbolest on my full dex bird (he's lvl 53) and got 274 dps. 10 more points in dex won't get me to 300 dps (ie if I was level 55), if I went henchmans cap and leather it would add 24 points to damage with gets me to 298, but I'm sure his regular dps was OVER 300. Anyhow, I'm still tinkering with it and looking.

Edit: my bird had on armor ring (and I think bear did too), so with henchmans, and damage ring I think you could pull 307 on a full dex bear.
Also, even with damage ring on, dual bear only pulls 236, have no idea where you're 280 came from

Thx to this free respec weekend as I didnt want to waste my plat b4 the new maps, I could verified and confirmed for the fun.

Lvl 56 full dex, hencham helm/plate/dmg ring + arbalest of fortune.

Rage off, Dmg 177-181, Dps 311

Rage on, Dmg 237-241, Dps 415
