You can always try to contact them in game using /talk command.
Type /t pallas hi
If he's online it will go, if offline character will not be found. Chances are they will have no clue how to reply to you, so you should send them another msg using /t (name) again instructing them to reply by typing /t (name) msg or by simply typing /r (msg)
If they are online and still don't reply after some minutes (take into account they might be farming and your msg gets spammed away or they dont have time right then to chat) it's possible they have ignored you. You could ask a friend to try and msg them.
