Grab your 55 or 56 character, load up your PvP gear and let's get ready to rumble!

How to Join:
* Get 4 friends to create a team of 5
* Log into the forums
* Go to the Competition section and create your team (please keep the names and slogans clean, thanks)

When to play

One team gets through to the next round. 10 was an arbitrary number. We can expand or shrink the team numbers depending on how it comes together.

Also, if we don't get enough teams for a full tourney, we can run with who shows up to play, everyone gets goodies and we can try again to get more people involved next week. I think CTF is a lot of fun and adds another dimension to PvP over just killing, since you have to run the flag, protect your flag and all that.

You guys play can play on the first map if that works for everyone.

Don't worry Bro..... Unfortionatly with a text base game/forum its hard to catch the tone in peoples voices if you know what I mean? But we both know that you were reffering directly to my guild in your original post so please don't try to say you didn't realize that a guild had actually created 2 teams. I do want to say I understand you thoughts on "fair play" in a way..... however to imagine that anyone would willingly give up the chance for free plat, and not 1 but 2 pairs of antenna is ludacris, especially in a guild such as ours who prides themselves on fairness and honesty in game play. You also bring up the guilds having a greater chance of winning by entering in more teams, which would be a valid point had this been a guild oreinted CTF match. However its not a guild event its a STS event and open to anyone and everyone to join, am I right? We didn't create 2 teams for our guild to have a better chance of winning because our guild won't get anything for it. We created 2 teams because its only the players on the team that gets the prize and we all wanted a chance to win.... I'm just thinking of fair game play here but isn't it kind of wrong to assume that just because we all belong to 1 guild we don't all have a chance to win? I mean would I not be able to apply your same argument to 10 different friends creating and joining 2 teams? Because thats all a true guild is, friends :-)

Work it out with the other teams on the list. You can see who's online and send tells (or private messages via the forums) to figure out when your teams will fight. The post a screenshot here showing who won.

Likely, we'll change this to be a monthly or every-two-week CTF Ladder with prize/title going to the top team(s) on the ladder and seeing who can bump them off the ladder.

Aside from the language you're using, you have a point. It just seems like an unorganized mess at the moment. I even specially set an alarm clock to wake up and kick some butt, only to find out nobody could find anybody. This definitely had to be prepared better IMO

Devs should set fix times or something, working together with the team leaders. Only then frustrating things like what you posted could be prevented. If a team doesn't show up at a specific time, they should be disqualified.

Now, it only feels like we put a lot of effort in getting our friends together at a specific time, only to find out the other team decided to change the schedule. I'm sorry

heres my say, having to find leaders/members of teams is a cat and mouse chase, now the time wasted for a ctf game is gone. i say delay this tourny with a more sanctioned system by samhayne, so it will be more organized. and on top of that, being one of three teams registering before the deadline, we find out 3-4 entered on the day of tourny...which makes it unfair...idk these are my two cents.

Was a fun match. Last flag took days to get and made me late to running practice lol. Told my coach "so you'r going to make me run laps for being late" he laughed and made my spilts faster with less recovery. Then i told him "so my punishment is a better workout, thanks " and we both laughted. Running is to good and one of the few non curupted sports. A win in ctf doesn't care the kill numbers, it's all about who took and returned the flags FIRST.

Btw, by simple calculation, Hovarth got a number of kills which is more than the total of the whole blue team's kills, so you can easily understand it's not about the number of kills but who did returning flags first.

Hi Sam, i was in the BH Shadow Knights game, I wouldnt get into the debacle on the scores above.

However i actually want to reports strange findings and experiences during the match.
My ping was constantly showing yellow 300-400s, but there are times where i attack opposing team, and they did not reacts nor affected at all.
Actually happened to me 3 times.
And also i have my share of kills, more then 2 which is definate, however it did not shows at end game.
Wonder if above is worthed to look into, just as input imho, to clarify if it is in fact bugs in the map or missunderstanding of the scores and kills system.

Ok so after reading the last 2-3 pages...Sam, plz this tournament should abide by the original stated rules:
1) between the CAOS and unity match, why was there a sub of a different player other than shooterpoo?

2) Sam, why was there a 3v3 ctf game? Title says 5v5. That would make it seem unfair for ppl who did wana join but didn't have a team of 5.

Just giving my assessment of the situation with recent events. And ask to please follow rules for fairness.

Sam here is what happend. We won this match fair and square and heres why:

We all agreed 1030am eastern. By 1040am we had all 5 members. They had 4 members. So We AGREED on a 4v4. Our 5th person ashxrose left at that time because of the agreement. Then the match began.

By mid-game the match was 6-2 we were winning. Unfortunately because of the delay i had to leave so JCOUlT agreed to sit out(which according to you a 3v3 is okay) However since mystical was watching the match, I gave them a 2nd choice before i left. I told them mystical can play in my place or Jcoult can sit. They AGREED for mystical to play ruling out their first decision and also because we did a favor for them they did a favor for us.

Now we were already destroying them 6-2, we had all 5 players ready to play, we did them many favors for them. If the outcome was different and we lost i bet you they would have never complained about it and we would have had no say about it. Too reschedule this match after seeing we are obviously the better team would not only be too time-consuming and difficult but will delay this tourny tremondously. Nono sorry but we won this match fair and square.

Ok so after reading the last 2-3 pages...Sam, plz this tournament should abide by the original stated rules:
1) between the CAOS and unity match, why was there a sub of a different player other than shooterpoo?

2) Sam, why was there a 3v3 ctf game? Title says 5v5. That would make it seem unfair for ppl who did wana join but didn't have a team of 5.

Just giving my assessment of the situation with recent events. And ask to please follow rules for fairness.

Ok it was 3v3 our team has 5 but because of time zones our other players where not on and we agreed to play 3 v 3 because some have to sleep and tourney ends tomorrow so it was our own fault for playing 3 v 3 with two watching so a total of 5 lol

My post apparently made some ppl mad cuz I received some insults! OK SORRY FOR this POST! secondly ash had to leave cuz she was at church and not cuz it was 4VS4! :'(

And finally saying 4 vs 4 doesn't mean let's start the real match! It could have been a training match too! NOBODY precised! Nono, nobody said it was a practice game either. You can try to find loopholes all you want, but I think in the back of your head even you knew it was the real game. I hardly know Kelly to be honest, I don't even think I have him/her added. Nothing against him/her, I just have never gotten the chance to get to know him/her, so that's not the case. Ok, so up until now I had been lucky enough to not have to deal with the inability of others to organize a small group people. As everyone knows team COT B was scheduled to fight Unity this afternoon even tho they obviously broke the rules once by having a sub/alt that wasn't even listed on there team roster play for them. So earlier this morning I logged online to arrange the meeting of our groups on the CTF field. I went to the leader of the guild Kanital and explained how 2 of my people for guild were in way different sides of the world and how we would be totally ready and willing to do battle at 5pm PST to which I was told that was no big deal and we agreed to meet back here in PL at that time. Well long story short, I arranged with my team to log on at that time and even gathered other means to communicate with them (ie: fring, skype, text, ect) to ensure we would all be here for the monumental event. Thing is we were all here and team Unity was nowhere to be found for a good 45-50min after which Kanital finally logged on. When I went to speak to him he logged off again, it was actually another 20min before he logged back in. So again I went to speak to him and ask if his team was on. He said NO, and then out of nowhere said he's leaving for 4 days and I had 2 options # 1 being we wait the 4 days till his all mighty return (which is ludacris) or #2 which was to let them find a sub for him to take his spot (the thing is they have a sub named shooterpoo) and when I told him he already had a sub his only response was " I don't know yet " what ever that means? I then explained that there was a 3rd option that was being forgotten, he and his team could forfeit the match and allow us to move on to the finals which I can honestly say he wasn't very thrilled at the notion. After a drawn out conversation he concluded the same way he started stating that he was leaving and we would fight upon his arrival in 4 days and that "Its not his problem"... which is absurd to say the least!

Sam I want to say I totally love this concept and can't wait for there to be more tourney's like this, I understand that this is a learning experience for everyone involved and hope there is a lot taken away from this. But with that said WE ALL need to be able to follow the rules aswell as know that if these rules aren't followed there will be repercussions such as disqualification from the event. Because I fully believe that should be the case here I want to push for a full disqualification due to forfeiture of match for not showing up at the mutually agreed upon time frame. We waited for 2 hrs and didn't even get the chance to win or lose .... I have to say besides feeling like I wasted not only my time I feel like I wasted the time of my team and walk away from this feeling demoralized.

Although at first I was against a disqualification, I have to admit, I'm all for it now.

I was in team B, set an alarm at 2AM, just so I could be there for my buddies. And I was there, standing next to tank when Kanital logged off, and let us wait. I was really looking forward to this. I have a busy life, but see PL as a kind of a hobby of mine. I can understand that things don't always go as planned, but the way Kanital talked to us, offended me to be honest. It sounded like HE made the rules, and that we were just a bunch of noobs getting our butts kicked anyway. I don't want to go into further details, because I'm not here to flame. I'm just annoyed by the fact I lost sleep over this, while I have to get up for work early in the morning again.

Sam, I really think it's a great thing you did here. You gave us something to look forward to, while waiting for the SL and the PL update, and that's much appreciated. But, you have to step up here IMO. It can't go unpunished if a team keeps offending the rules. It's not about the punishment here, it's about the lesson people can learn from this. In real life and in sportsmanship it's also important to obey the rules. If you don't follow them you get either fired/disqualified. I don't see how that should be any different here. It's a game, yes, but this is a competition, isn't it?

I agree. Rules are meant to be followed. If not not Sam, sadly to say, further abuse of the rules and regulations will be further taken by people, and will totally have future tourneys disfuctional if not properly fixed.

Yeah me and my buddy had fun too. Its actually been a while for us to be able to gather, but we have a reason to now, as we all doing CTF practice and gather for the match. And im happy to fight by their side at the competition. Im sure all others team felt the same way :)

Didn't want to take sides here, especially since I'm not directly involved. Though my not participating in the tourney does give me an unbiased opinion.

I have to agree with Tank's team. Like any sport, meeting, agreement, or whatever, if you agree on a time to compete and one team doesn't show, unless it was agreed upon before the set time if a no-show happened, it's an automatic DQ for the no-show group.

It's natural sportsman conduct, doesn't and shouldn't have anything to do with being scared. Tank's team did show up in the first place to compete didn't they?

Just speaking from experience, been on both sides of the coin here.

Clearly, there's a lot of work to do to get these set up and working. Everyone's time is very valuable and yes, matches must be agreed upon and people show up or no-shows are disqualified.

Maybe you could make an official thread where we can arrange our times better. If 2 teams agree upon a time, you update the post with that time. This time is then absolute. You forfeit if you don't show up at that time. Now, you could make it a bit flexible so teams can reschedule 24hrs before the match or so. A link to a timezone converter might be cool too :)

If you don't have the time to put this together, with the pending releases of your new products, I'd be happy to step up and make that thread. Or you could appoint any forum member to make that thread, I'm sure most involved people wouldn't mind taking that workload off of you.

About the Unity no-show... Will these rules you mentioned be applied?

Nono, it says in the thread if there's no sub and someone is gone, you can fight with the people you have there. It could've been 5v4 but unity wanted a fair fight, and had me sit and ONLY played 4v4. It was a fair fight.

I also asked you a question, if you guys won, would you be asking for a rematch? Or take the win? Honest answer, you ignored by question both times I asked... myst it also says you can't use subs that are on your team as you were not on the team you should not have been there watching or not.

Kan, what do you think brought me to the arena you were in this morning? I can tell you for sure that its not your great personality! NO, it was to arrange a time for our teams to mee and that's what we did. Do you hanestly not recal?? Lemme see if I can jog your memory? I found you in pvp arena and popped in we said hey I explained I had full day of stuf and other people in my guild were from australia and other places in the world and then I said we should be ready to roll at 5PM PST weather wwe have our australian or not, to which you replied its not a big deal, ok! And then I said Kan go and we fought 1v1 and I beat you and then I said ok cya at 5 and left....

What really amuses me is I haven't changed my story once while now 5hrs later your just deciding to tell me we never decided on a time?? Don't you think that should've been your first argument...lmao

Okay first of all Kani isn't our team leader...Kelly is. After our match this morning Kani Dolloway and I tried to schedule our next match with Fastcast. Not only was he unsure of who his teamates were he had no clue when they would be able to fight, stating that two of his team mates live in Australia. This was the last i personally heard from this team. Not to mention Kelly and I were both offline for the majority of the day. We would never schedule a match we couldn't make. Period. So to say that we were a noshow is just absolutely rediculous. Just like our first match when we have a time set Kelly will post it here on the forum.

Devs should easily be able to track back that conversation.

Sam or any other dev reading this, I'd urge you to do so. Then, take the proper actions, and let the players who DO follow the rules and want this contest to succeed, have a fun contest.

Only thing we all want here is an honest, clean, sportsmanlike competition. I don't see how expressing our opinions is a drag. We spent more time waiting in the game then tank spent typing all this, I can assure you that much :)

Cloakker, he isn't stirring up drama and all of that. The broad spectrum here is being missed and completely overlooked, which are.the RULES by Sam himself stated did not seem like it was followed. Its not by tank causing drama, its not about dragging this, but it now evolved to a further state of having sportsmanship to be added. Ik you wouldn't make comments like what kan said.

Ok? Why go to fastcast when he isn't leader? Contradicting...

EDIT: ok kan, if you told tank to pm Kelly (and according to Amy, Kelly and herself were not on the whole day) why couldn't u simply tell tank that she is not on and etc? I suggest better communication more please.

But like I said, this is way more than setting a scehduled time..its more than that now even before this conflict with schedule making even began.

I'm online :-) I have been for over 5 hours. Try not to forget? We aren't the ones who backed out in the first place....lol... we also aren't the ones calling people names, none stop harrassing them via PM telling they have no honor, ect ect ect... and there team still isn't "Unified" enough to all be online....
