Gale Force Mastery states that it "removes any negative effects." And while it works to remove many effects, including DoT damage from stepping in acid, it does not remove DoT damage done by fire - at least by the lava geysers in Tindrin.
Was this intentional? It would seem not, if it is supposed to "remove any negative effect."
