why is the map skill slots red?

So i made a new character for fun but his skill slot only holds 4 skills, the other 8 are reds... how do i unlock them?

You have to level up, every couple of levels you unlock new skills.

not skills the slots to make the skills in quick slots, u have 12 slots but 8 of them are red.
