question about mage guns

Hi all,
So ive been leveling my mage recently and ive always been using the legendary mage guns. I use the insecticide ones. I was looking in auction awhile ago and found another cheaper legendary expedition rifle of assault (level 41) and purchased it. However despite having higher dps and damage than my insecticide luminescer of security (level 36) my auto damage hits way less. Using my lv 36 insecticide gun i can hit around 700s with auto shots but with the lv 41 expedition rifle of assault on the same enemy was hitting only 400's. This also seemed to be the case with staffs that i have tried. What is the reason for this?

Insecticide rifles were affected by the new weapon changes that were introduced when Underhul was released. One of these changes included 2x damage. This new weapon change only affects weapons that were released from the Underhul expansion and above. The Expedition Rifle came out in the Tindirin expansion which is before the Underhul expansion,meaning that it didn't get affected by the new weapon changes.

Ah i see! that makes a lot of sense now thanks so much for explaining! :D Is there a way to find out which weapons were part of the new expansion ( I came back to playing AL recently so am a bit lost) and lastly does this change also affect staves?
