Inventory sliots

I just noticed something

All my old characters have 250 inventory slots, but after the server merge when you could make 2 extra characters, both those characters only have 50 slots?

Whats up with this?, the reason i say this, my old character is a enchantress but i really want to level up my tank bear, but he has only 50 slots whereas my enchantress has 250!!

This has been the case since 1.2. New characters have 50 inventory slots.
