Guys,
I just wanted to tell you some of the points scamming another person can make you.....feel...(I.e. you as the scammer in this context)
1.)richer (obviously)
2.)maybe guilty....maybe not...
3.) Scared asf (if its ur main account)
If not...happy?...achieved?..I dunno..
..
I understand you must be careful before trade..but you will feel when you are the prey..
I got scammed today..
I met a guy called twinkhard( i DC if names included..after all he's a scammer and no respect for IT).
He said he was selling winter tree suit.
He said 4.5m...I knew it was a sure profit for me.(my mistake)
And he came up showed me the tree suit..and I offered him a para lv 6 armor and 2.3m..he said deal..and then it happened...i think you guys know.zz
Red arlor winterfest tree suit
Red arlor winterest suit..
O.0
Not much difference huh?
I accepted...
And...this technique is just ingenious...
No I mean seriously ...if I had a tree suit..and this arlilor normal vest...I bet I could have sold the arlor vest normal for 6m...
Butttttt..finally..my point is if there's somin that's very easy to do..(I mean scammin)..
Sts should allocate some more resources to this department*..
At least so they can redress some ppl who are victims.
I mean come on 4.3m is somin humongous...I lost 80 USD that one moment...(meant in plat)
And..I also have sent a request to STS.
And if they are completely negative on this.....I wonder why not many people may get the idea and start using such..ingenious..tactics to loot ppl off of their money..(real life...sounds good*)...
So I myself...find this disturbingly..
Verrryy lucrative.......
Guys please tell me what you guys got itself scammed..or who HAS scammed..( I'm sure noone in forums has scammed :op)
AND ALSO TAP ME ON SOME NEW TECHNIQUES PPL R USING TO SCAM..
MAYBE TRY ONE OR TWO....
.
TY FOR REACHING THE END
(again ...I'm talking to you as the prey ....the scammed )..pls help us sts....

And I also like to add...
That a person owning a tree vest worth 6m..isn't some newbie player...a well informed rich acc with a dummy acc to feed on poor people who work hard to earn the vest comes to this person and he outrightly scams them...twinkhard is the ign..of this slippery scammer...I wish sets would track the gameplay and would ban all his ACCs for good...he even replied back to me and said he wanted to buy that arlor back for 1.2..u know y??...to scam the next person...sts do something..

Played for almost 4 years now and never got scammed... although people tried to scam me countless times lol .. here are some tips :

Only accept trades that fit in trade window , ONLY . If your selling an item and somebody offers an extremely high price and tells "gift me first " just tell no -_-

Always double check trade window before you confirm , if you other person canceled trade and then traded again be double carefull of what he offers .

If you see somebody in town buying a 100% useless item for a price higher than in ac , its also sort of a scam. What they do is post an item from their alt and the go on the main account and send messages in chat that they are buying that exact item . When you buy that item from cs and trade them hoping for quick profit they "already got one"

If somebody asks to borrow an item or offers to craft you nekro if you give the your ingredients it's most probably a scam , never give items to players that you will want back . BUT this does not apply to friends / guildies that you trust and know for a long time . But still be careful

This is a common way of scamming now days : somebody offers you a glitch/bug/mod/hack and tells you that they can install it to your account and add you a lot of gold , plat , pets etc , etc . Well if you give them your account info , they just take your acc and change the password . NEVER give account info to anybody except devs/mods , there are no hacks or any gold/item publication glitches in AL

This one is similar to the other one : sometimes you will get a pm from a fake dev on a social app ( most commonly it's line ) , what scammers do is crate and account with the name of dev , then pm you and tell that you won a content and that they need your account info . Dont fall for that they will steal your account . Anything devs want to say to you they will do it in game of via forums .

Hope that will help you avoid getting scammed in the future ( sorry for any grammar mistakes or if something doesn't make sense , I fell like I'm drunk lol ) if you need info on any other type of scamming , I can add it .

Thanks for all the heads up, it can be hard sometimes to distinguished an item of similar names especially if you're playing tired or when you think you just got a deal of a lifetime. As much as getting scammed hurts, i usually take it as a lesson learned and moved on nothing usually gets done anyway.

The oldest scam in the book is the sell account or sell guild scam. If you see these just take a screenshot and report them

I mean I was finally going to get a sns..and me and my silly head...thought of trying all the rich vanities once I busted all gold on sns...and pooof!!!!...that guy came from nowhere and placed a stop sign.....I'm now back ...lost 4m..and I got a arlor normal vest worth 1m..I think...and AVIKK its probably the same person...a very hard way to find out scam...literally..u r happy wen u r about to get that vani..u r conscious but not too much..(at least for newbies like me)..
And then he does the golden switch.

SO LEGIT THIS SCAM IS...

I SWEAR IF I HAD BOTH THE ITEMS I WOULD CARRY THIS OUT AND GET AWAY IF STS DOSENT FIX this....(I mean some other way to address this problem)

I hope you are just sayiing this outta anger, scamming others to make urself feel better is probably not a good way to remedy this situation. Just take it as a lesson learned and move on. I've heard stories more horrific than this, back then when guilds pool their gold together to get "midas touch" ap only to have a member/officer leave with the gold. Also, the reason why that title doesn't exist anymore way too many scams.

Well, merching requires brain and patience, those who doesn't have these resort to scamming. I remember how i bought a glitched helm in cs for 8m a few seasons ago and boom sts patched it just after a few months turning that helm into a 250k piece of scrap, i got "legitly" scammed too haha, bottoms up to the broken hearted

Damn, i still think the AL casino stories are more entertaining. Merching is hard work and those that hate, try it and u might get a new appreciation for it.

I never get scammed on trade or anything
Maybe betrayed about lending an item like recipe etc

I dont think its easy to get scammed if you have pair of eyes and a functioning awake brain. There are 2 confirmation on each trade you can check what you are giving and gettin on second check at least

Fyi putting fang istead of lepre putting tree suit and normal winter suit etc those are catchable with careful eyes, this exist from the launch of game

There is another scam method they show you a good item and ask you to trade with something else, a legendary item maybe but there is only one in auc, and highly overpriced, if you get greedy and buy it from auc you just send the money on thaqt guy indirectly, he was the one who sells it.

rule of thumb , always be sceptic about too good to be true offers
always be careful what you are getting on second confirmation

I would like to add, try and focus on keywords like "tree" if you're trading for a tree vest/helm.

Ty so much for tips guys.
But this was a hard hit..I mean got scammed 70% of my gold..
I just don't have more energy to merch...just gonna give up for a while...
I can't believe scammers get to u so hardcore..inside our heads..
...Its basically 45usd I spent to get crate keys for gold...hmm...just seems so unfair..
I learnt my lesson..but don't u guys think if there's some sort of reconsideration of the scam segment in sts that more ....ACTIVE AND..MORE THAN ACTICE...
GENEROUS....I understand its my fault ..but just seems a bit too unfair...maybe like restoring the trade back...if it was fast switch cases???

I dunno if that's even possible, once you hit that trade confirmation everything is final. As sts never confirms on any bans so who know what happens to the scammer.

Best thing to do is just let it go and live to fight another day.

The best way is to read the 2nd confirm screen to yourself OUT LOUD. There is no way to fool yourself this way. It is simple and it works.

As for scammers, yes, actually, getting scammed can make someone a scammer. While having fun leading scammers on, I have had enough of them tell me they started scamming because they were scammed. So to them, the scammer was their example. One would hope people picked more worthy examples to follow, but there it is.

being betrayed is pretty much being scammed, anyone who has experience in this game would know that virtual friends are never really true friends, i just learnt reality from some pros recently actually, i trusted them, borrowed them stuff when they asked for it but they will never trust me when it comes to my turn to ask no matter how cheap the thing i asked for is
