mages are neutral (similar to unisex flowers and slugs and some other organisms like bacteria etc)
as it hasnt been revealed we can just assume they can divide and multiply like bacteria or change sex like slugs or even self breed a baby using assexual methods or materials (i doubt this as one quest asks us to find a mages uncle, thus this last ones most probaly doesnt exist)
