Judging by the post, you are talking strictly from a pvp perspective.

I myself am a pure int, although I am debating the possibility of a respec. With the latest update, pure builds have fallen out of favor. Even some pvp pure dex birds are also respecing.

Well, when the free respecs were here, I switched to pure int, and forgot to switch back, so I'm stuck with it. It is really cool though with my skills doing lots of damage, especially with high crit

Pure strength is completely ineffective for pvp.

With the latest update, pure builds have been weakened and duel spec strengthened.

Btw, you may want to specify that you're only looking for PvP pure int as pure ints are quite common in PvE.

Pure dex is certainly not weakened in the latest update ;) from a PvE perspective anyway.

From a pve standpoint dex bird should actually be better. Many pure ints are respecing to pally that pve, because glyph charmin offers little increase in protection (contrast this with the mega mage and enchanted versus their 50 counterparts) in an environment where enemies hit much harder.

For pvp though, I have yet to play 61 pvp, but 56 level cap at the time of the update definitely favored dual spec. It was a time where dex mage, warbird, and dex bear had the advantage. Because the requirements to use end game weapons are so low, this is likely to still hold true.

Intuitively though, dex bird may decline somewhat due to the loss in crit. The question is can the increase in base damage and armor offset this? Int mage is now much squishier than before but might also have the crit advantage so it could go either way. For dex bear it's hard to predict. Too many variables.

im one... and there r many others too. btw its not true that hybrid spec mages are not good. 4 instance, dex and int mage has better crit n dodge.
If ur int goes high, it wont be any use cuz weapons generally hav lower spec requirements in their lvl. 4 instance a shivering ice talon requires lvl 30 but its dex spec is less than 150. (and when ur lvl 30 pure dex bird ur dex spec should already be more than that.)
So 4 mages being hybrid is good.:peaceful:

i wanna be pure dex with the new gear, but i was disapointed to see that pure dex with glyph bow have. "only" 36 crit... with buff is. 96. ;(

if sincs lvl. 56 pure dex has more crit and mage didnt? the new gear is soooo balance that u cant say no....

I don't see how pures are weakened with the dual spec changes. Ain't no way a pal can out damage a pure int mage. It just isn't possible unless you glitch abuse or something, which usually gets patched almost immediately.

I love the pure intellect Mage, but I have to say, its a hard life. My defense is not so great, but with a skillful Bear or tank, I manage to make it. My magic and cool down is great. I see why peoples call us the nukers. But I can't front, when it come Archers, in the sewers. They sometimes own me. Dps is no joking matter, so I belive Archer can own mages, if you chives them the upper hand, this what I experience in the belfort sewers, but I really love power if magic in pocket legends, I hope the MY Engineer(SL) will see eye to eye to my pl Mage, RampageMage.

Hello Scurfy! Nice to see you in forum! oh for my Frostbite, I didnt give it any skill point, but I think its good to have 1 for PVP~ It has a far range 12m so depends if you like to freeze a single mob from far...

For PvE, I normally freeze whole bunch of mob together. 6m area gotta stand nearer~

I put in 5 points for ice storm and 4 points for shield cause I need more protection. Revive I got 1 point too. The others I going to max it out. ^_^

Pure Energy and have been since lvl 1 and just made lvl 50. It's a pretty difficult thing to do actually. At a certain point the enemies get better weapons (I'm looking at you aliens with blasters) and hit harder (Sewers) no matter how much armor I try to acquire. Even at this point kiting and trying to pull one at a time is impossible. I eventually have to suck it up and find some bears for line backers and let them take the hits while I nuke and heal. It's not a bad strategy if you can find a good guild or good friends. Wish there was a spell for a pet though, one that could take and deal damage for a period to help out with the more difficult and populated enemies.

Glad you asked.

Because in hardcore farming sessions at end level, it does the most skill dmg (yes, pure int does more skill dmg as compared to dex, thanks to the enormous INT skill dmg, coupled with high crit), heals your party and yourself best, and has decent survivability (better than with dex gear anyway).

So in short, everything dies quickest, with a very high survivability, sounds like a win to me.

Considering the armor on the strength and int items are almost the same at 61, there is no reason to go paladin. Well, I guess you do less damage so you draw less agro, so if cowering counts as a defense strategy, paladin would work :)

My one key for staying alive is fire. As long as my buffs are down I'll always fire ice quickly to get my opponent away from me until my buffs regenerate. Usually fire alone is best because fire and ice requires you to know your range very well.

I just returned to pure int from Strength int....don't do pvp so not sure if it is better...PVE I'm still getting used to being squishy again. But I do a lot more damage as pure int and can heal and rez with the best of them.....I prefer wand and bracer combo for a little more armor....lol.
