I was just wondering is there a difference between the two or is the damage bonus the same for both?
Your first para gem actually does +7 damage I believe.

The first Paracelsus gem gives 2.0 base damage PLUS an additional 5.5 base damage. Subsequently any other Paracelsus gem you socket only gives 2.0 base damage, the same as an exquisite Chaos jewel.
