Only reason I ask right now is because as a dex Mage my deaths are stacking up faster than my kills xD probably because I am doing dex Mage wrong :/ but I'm in RR recurve set so.. Any thoughts on which might be better ? I know int is more damage than paladin and pally more survivability but still cant decide :(

You're a dex mage now. It'll be hard to adapt to pally when going from dex or pure int Mage since it's a huge damage cut. I say don't care about KD, just play whatever spec you have the most fun with:)

Only reason I'm wondering is because a dead Mage is a useless Mage and I feel kinda squishier than normal running into these new dungeons and stuff...but I died alot in sewers too, maybe I just need to adapt just found out today...to bad my RR is worthless now lol ( well cheaper )

IMO, pure int is not a loss in damage output. I can bring some stats to show you in custom vs enchanted (level 55):

Both of these were on a level 56 pure int mage with the same ring, before the facial bonuses took effect:

120 Dex; Rest Int; Custom Recurve Set
Min Max
Heal 106 214
Ice Storm 181 209
Frostbite 221 265
Fire Blast 274 360
Lightning 267 368
Drain Life 304 415
Main Weapon 206 251

Enchanted Gemstone Staff (Pure Int); 72% chance of Crit Buffed
Min Max
Heal 132 269
Ice Storm 209 245
Frostbite 259 316
Fire Blast 325 438
Lightning 312 442
Drain Life 355 498
Main Weapon 231 269

If you were to take the average, you would find that pure int has higher overall damage, especially once armor is taken into account.

FYI, I think being a pally might be more useful in the new map, since the mobs hit much harder.
Makes Balefort Sewer mobs look like Forest Haven zombies...

Even with my enchanted wand/bracer set, I'm very squishy.

My recommendation:

For Nuri's hollow, be a Pally
For Balefort Sewers, be anything you want.

Though using a 4x combo elixir makes my point moot.

This is not a fair comparison because you use two different sets and take advantage of gemstone staff weapon damage.

Pally is definitely better. The new dungeons r much harder to play. alien oasis bandits with swords can kill much faster. my int mage went down after being surrounded by four or five of them. pally has much more survivability. but as for a twink.. well, there is still much debate on which is better for pvp:mask::mask::mask:

Why is it not a fair comparison? I think you misunderstood the purpose of the post.

The post was a response to Mystical's, pointing out that a dual spec dex-mage wearing an end game dex set (custom) does not offer higher effective skill damage output, despite the 100% crit compared to a pure int with an enchanted staff set at 72% crit.

I've decided to go pally because I am familiar with it I used pally end game during AO3 / shadow caves and it wasn't working as well but it worked and it seems they brought it back in a way with this update....I'm going ti wait to buy a 60 either int or str set for my Mage...

Just lay back a little, we are DexMages because we have high dps with just weps and can do a good chunk of damage with our AOE spells. We also are there to support. The mage is a support class no matter what build you are. Keep that in mind when running into a room full of mobs.
