Are you allowed to start a campaign in the later levels?

I don't feel like going through the useless, dropless levels all the time so I tried starting the game at level five "quick love" in balefort castlebut it just loaded until I died of old age! Any ideas? I'd like to be able to just do that level, I mean, 3 bosses, drop mania, maybe...
