Message System?

Would a message system be overkill? You know, like leave another player a message so that if they're offline they will see the message in their next login. Too much? It might even help with guilds..

Or is there already something like this thsti don't know about?

I'm pretty sure the devs are aware of the communitys need for this :) (source from technology roadmap thread). I can't wait till we get this feature.

Inboxes have been put onto multiple roadmaps, I'm sure we'll see the eventually:)
