Thats a common practice vs undercutters in any mmo with an AH to just buy the item and resell at normal price.

Another deceiving tactic to control the market on an item is to have multi toons. 1 account to take an item worth 300 mark it up to like 1000, then take a 2nd toon with same item mark it at 750. Then a 3rd toon to mark it at 500. While you clear out the undercutters and normal price items, what this does makes other players think they are getting a great deal cuz the item is 1/2 the cost compared to the highest price but dont realize that its actually more then its worth but the active seller is keeping you from see that while he/she is making the profit.
