Previously a haven for fighters taking a break and doing their trading away from the trolls, goblins and dark forces that threaten the peace of Alterra, Balefort Castle has been a site of a worrying phenomenon. A place where the most disturbing thing that could happen would be a deluge of requests for free gear and powerlevelling, the castle has been exempt from the many deaths that occur elsewhere in pvp and pve dungeons. Until now.
Piecing together the accounts of victims and observers, victims experience a steady drain of their health and, left unchecked, this results in the person’s death. One incident was reported by apocketlegends, “I was in town talking to godofra when this happened!!!!”:

My lo level farmer, BucketofBolts, was recently a victim of this epidemic. I was unaware that my health was draining rapidly, and was tending my CS sells when I heard the awful the sound of someone dying. Then someone pm’ed me asking how I died, confused was the least of my reactions. I immediately took this screen shot:

Death of Bucketofbolts
An official response was given yesterday and there have been reassurances that this has been addressed. Speaking on behalf of Alterra authorities, asommers said, ““Thanks for the report. I've made it so you can't die in towne (well, unless you're me. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/zDFjIadcf466uZI4pwDeXuk8ewwg07tf4kajwmtooedi4zv6ZF PSug4DMqsVYjaQLM06WuMP6tZGKqzYMCm53Sh3ub8RIL8YejfJ g5VHBojnibdl2m8
A reputable Guardian, Mysticaldream, almost became a victim himself. Having some fore knowledge of this event, when he noticed the health drain when entering town, he took action: “I went on my alt, had negative regen, and came close to dying until I noticed and left.”
Others have been less fortunate, the latest incident:

Death of Skywishes
Touchingly, several onlookers rushed to the scene. Multiple revive spells were cast to no avail. Said victim remained very much deceased. One person said, "She was a good friend. Helped stop the evildoers of alterra."
If anyone witnesses more deaths please post a screen shot if you can. Any additional witnessed events are welcomed.

For the record, I have never cheated in this game for any reason. Any comments that blame the reason for these deaths on the "xp exploit" are at the moment groundless since there has not been an official comment from STS. If you would, please note my sig, I have 16 toons in PL, 13 of which are frozen for farming. I have no intention nor will I ever of trying to move up fast, for me it defeats the purpose of having fun in leveling.
