Can anybody find the thread on screen shots for non-rooted? Something to do with the Android SDK and a PC is all I remember.

Download Snappz Market on SnappzMarket.com (APK) > download ScreenShot It app > open app.. tells you exactly what to do.. settings > applications turn on USB DeBug > go on website it says to download that.. open on PC.. while hooked to phone.. the app on comp will ask you NonRoot or Root you click enable on Root then enjoy..

Either click on app will say take screenshot in 5 secs (modify this if want more time) can add it to your task bar.. or shake to screenshot :D

Only down side is that if your phone dies then you lose it (same as app killers) but you literally turn DeBug on then connect wire via USB then open app on comp and press enable.. :p

I was following you until I read the part about what seems to be temporary root? Why click root? I don't want root on my phone, even for half a millisecond. I am looking for a completely non-rooted solution.

And what do you mean lose it? What good is a screen shot that self deletes if you unplug the phone? o.o

Sorry Bod, I'm confused.

Holy smokes people:) I've posted about the Screenshot It app many times, i just don't know how to link- Anyways, the app requires you to download a quick program onto PC. ( as well as the initial on phone from market) I'm not yelling here--> WHEN YOU TURN OFF YOUR DEVICE(or power down) YOU NEED TO RE-ENABLE THE APP BY PLUGGING BACK INTO PC. When the app is enabled you can unplug your device from PC and take it anywhere you want. The app will always be running in the background(minor cpu usage). ONLY ONLY ONLY when you turn off the power of device will you need to plug back into PC to re-enable the app. Did this help? I can explain more if needed but the instructions are with the app on the market. It is quite simple don't fret :) I know the inconvienience of plugging back in to PC after reboot of device but takes 5 seconds to plug in, enable, unplug, go go go:) There are rooted and un-rooted versions, I believe Bod stated to click root because the initial post was a rooted phone. So if you want un-rooted get the un-rooted version. Its the same thing just gives you the option for either

Thank you Angel. Anybody got a Market link for the lazy or is this only only only on one of the unofficial markets?

Can't believe somebody figured out how to screen without root. Happy day. Once I resub to my AntiVirus I'll give it a go.

As an aside, those with the HTC Sensation and HTC Evo 3D have native screen capture. May not help any of you guys, but to use it, just hold power and tap home. It will save the caps to your camera shots folder on your SD card.

Hey Bron, did you manage to get Screenshot capabilities after?

Just read your response I did look for your original post for awhile but didn't realise it was attached to Legals thread haha.

Anyway all I said was true.. tho I made a typo and that last part was meant to read. Enable on Non-Root option :D

My bad.. it doesn't Root your phone or any of the sort :) (if root was that easy there would he alot of happy people :p

You can now download ScreenShot it on normal Market now :) (free or pay)

Typo lol.. it was meant to read Non-Root Option.. quite funny how a typo can mean the total opposite of what you actually mean sometimes :p

i personally use shoot me, which for some reason i cant find on the market. i got it from....well i really cant say. anyways, shoot me has been giving me problems. the images come out all weird. i'll post an example once my phone is charged. i dunno about screenshot it. is it required to plug into pc to use? seems like a hassle.

Drocap is also a fine choice for rooted phones.

I can confirm the galaxy S2 also has native screenshots capabilities  I for one am just happy it's drafting to come standard on newer phones...lol

Yup unfortunately the first time can take 5-10mins any time your phone dies it resets back to normal but as long as you have 'debug' option on from application settings this takes mere seconds to add any time after.

:O does this mean you actually went and swapped your Amaze for S2after your Bday?! Whats the verdict on a comparison?

Yes, I swapped it a few days after...lol :) the amaze was... Well looked good on paper but the camera was over rated. Had cool edgers but picture quality sucked. Also has zero shutter lag which was nice but other then that aspect the camera on S2 is far superior. Then there was the issue of battery life...rofl! Talk about crap, 2hrs max unless plugged in. Finally we come to the last and most uncomfortable of known problems.... The heat! with mild usage (and I'm talking 5minutes surfing internet) the core temp. Of the phone exceeded 103° easy and was actually very unpleasant to hold, place in pocket, or God forbid you had to hold it up to your face and place a call...bwahaha!

The S2 on the other hand is cheaper, lighter in weight, bigger & brighter screen! It's temp. Even with extended use and being plugged in doesn't get to uncomfortable and best of all the Batt life is 10x better then the amaze. I have absolutely ZERO complaints with this phone and highly suggest it to anyone looking for an upgrade (the USA released version only) :hopelessness:the only phone I see on the horizon that will be comparable is the Nexus Prime :)

Wow! Now that has surprised me! The Sensation and Amaze were the phones I was looking into to replace my HTC Desire. To think that a Samsung would annihilate HTC is quite well remarkable.. S1 seemed to be a fail.

Does the Dual core make that much of a difference (understand how processors work) just need to make sure the Dual is the way forward.

Have massive expectations of the Nexus Prime and is at the top of my list. My contract doesnt expire until Mar/April so have plenty of time to figure out what's the best choice for me, though now I will definitely see S2 as a contender in my decision :) Glad your enjoying it! :D
