title says it all. what is the all time best console game you've ever played?

Mine is Final Fantasy 7, so far not a single console game has ever held a candle to this games superb storyline, combat mechanics, and graphics (yes even though you are made of blocks when not in a fight, the graphics were revolutionary for its time.)

I'm an old schooler myself, had console from Intellevision 1978, Sega Dreamcast 90's to nowadays PS3.

HANDS DOWN, best console game I have ever played is Killzone 3 with the PS move Sharpshooter gun. Just amazing! I really look toward to seeing future gaming generations & watching it progress as it always does.

Kingdom hearts has to be my all time favourite console game. I was a little skeptical at first, but I finished the whole game, beat all the post game bosses and mini games in bout a week. Sad i still havent got the the chance to play the latest version :(.
Overall Good graphics- back then, great story line and a first person RPG. + a mix of ff and Disney characters lolol!
I've played ff games, but never really caught me like kh.
Though I have to say the ff movie was just plain awesome haha

I clocked the game about 6-7 times when I was about 10 years old. Then I found the psx4droid emulator for my smart phone and clocked it again when I was 17 lol :p.
Apart from FF7 I have also loved some more modern games lik assasins creed and red dead redemption - great game !

Hmm.... My favorite console game? Hard to say, really. I'll try to pick by era, I guess

8-bit : Zelda 2: the adventure of link. The black sheep of the zelda series, yet no one seems to realize how much it influenced later titles (especially ocarina of time). It was way ahead of its time, imo, and I found it to be an amazing game.

16-bit : Super Metroid : anyone who hasnt played this needs to give it a try, truly an amazing piece of gaming history. A perfect blend of exploration, action, and light puzzle solving stuff. also worth a mention is Earthbound, a truly original rpg, funny as hell too.

32/64-bit: Castlevania: symphony of the night: essentially super metroid on crack, with a gothic atmosphere. Quite possibly the most beautiful non HD 2d game ever made.

Ps2/gcn/xbox era: final fantasy 10: the first 3d game that truly stunned me graphically. It is also, by far, my favorite in the final fantasy series also. I love every aspect of this game, and the story still gets me hooked every time. I'm secure enough with my masculinity to admit to getting choked up during the ending.

Current era: I'm sorry, nothing this era has really impressed me. I will say, however, that the newer sports games have really improved on everything from graphics, to control, to realism. Nhl11 is probably my most played game besides PL/SL. Also , i was very surprised and impressed by the skate series. As a former skater and former/current bmx rider, I loved the tony hawk and Dave mirra games, but hated how arcadey and flat out unrealistic they were. Skate is fairly realistic, and the control scheme is truly amazing and revolutionary. If you have ever skateboarded, the way tricks are done makes perfect sense.

Oh i thought of another oldie but goodie, the original soulcaliber. Lol i spent days playing that game cuz the final boss killed me just before i got him every time, i got so mad >:l

I've gotten all mastered materia, gotten aeris' final limit break before she died, leveled till i could solo the midgar zolom before continuing, raised countless gold chocobos, maxed stats on all characters, beaten emerald and ruby weapon multiple times, gotten KotR summon, let's see... All final weapons, beaten every graded scenario 100%... Pretty safe to say I have rocked every square inch of this game over and over.

FF3, 8, and 9 have gotten the ebalere treatment as well. The other final fantasies I've just beaten solidly, might have missed a few things tho.

Good to see there's someone who knows the in an outs of ff7 as well as i do :D

EDIT: wait, now that i think of it, i didnt use the w-summon materia against ruby, it was the quadra summon materia :)

I set up my materia to give cloud and barrett lucky 7777's when full health, how i beat emerald my first time too, along with counterattack w-summon kotr
And mime. Argh the materia is arguably the coolest equip system ever. You could do so much, I used to rock the mini battle game for omnislash with no sweat using the right materia

Lol the mini battle could easily be broken once you got the right materias. my favorite guy (other than cloud of course) would have to be a tie between vincent and cid, vincent's final limit break is simply insane and ff7 cid is by far the coolest cid in any ff game to date. Im rlly startin to crave some FF7 right about now lol!
