Maintenance

Is there a maintenance running now? I just tried to login and it gave me message that the server is down and perhaps there is a maintenance. How long will it be?

I don't think so. As far as the dev's time is concerned, it's roughly 2AM.

Maybe just restart your app, that message might be from when there was actual maintenance before.

I logged in now just fine :)

About 5 minutes ago I got booted out. We were working on killing Gurgox when ping went into the stratosphere, then got disconnected from the server.

While logging in, I Just got a message saying that the server is down for maintenance.

I just got logged off and received the message too that the server is down for maintenance...
PERHAPS they are rolling back all the players that are 61 and should be 60 (like me :S) and instead of shutting down the whole server are just going through player by player???
Is that possible?

Ah, log-in servers must be down, world server is up.

AFAIK, online game servers can be divided into segments. eg, log-in and world server. I'm still online so the world server must be up, log-in down.

Hopefully devs get paged! I want to play with people!

Unfortunately, unless the servers somehow fix themselves, yes I think dev work would be required.

Interesting. I do find it strange tho that not a single dev has decided to take 20 seconds from their rollback efforts to tell us this is what is happening by posting in forums.

Especially strange considering the message we get instructs us to visit forums for more info.

When the login server goes down unexpectedly (and at 3am), sometimes, in our sleep-induced state, we may forget to inform the users we're working on things.
