Personally, it needs to be more elaborate like the cap for 56 crown....its to simple....im not cappin, dont like the look sorry sts :(.
needs more sharp spikes, have gold and rubies like crown, maybe red/pink smoke for effects.

Agreed, was really looking forward to seeing what this would look like. Does not stand out to me as a WOW MUST HAVE Item.

And the biggest drawback to the shield is it does not match the armor. Need to incorperate that. a little bit more.

Ewwwww... is all I have to say... Nothing to do with persistance, has a big stupid circus tent on the front, man... Why is there absolutely no consistency in this game.. I had the idea that the rewards for capping would make you look absolutely badass. The crown was a good start, and then this... I'd rather rather rock a trash can lid. :(

Between the KoC copycat issues, the solution to the elixir bug, the guild spamming in towns, and now this lame shield, I'm seriously pulling at straws to find reasons to even log in to PL. I'm so disappointed in this shield.. it looks like a trash pink. After all the feedback you guys got about a persistance set, and people wanting the new cap reward to be awesome, you give us a shield that looks like it didnt make the cut for nuri sets. Blah

Edit: sorry, if i sound like an ungrateful punk, but I was really looking forward to this new shield, and IMO, it is so ugly.. I wanna cap 61 and not even take it. No consistency whatsoever from campaign to campaign from ao3 on.

I like the shield. It does kind of look like a Nuri's souvenir. In time, time stamped items can carry a meaning/value. Let's just hope you cant buy this shield with plat in a few months.

Exactly. Not anywhere near as cool a design as the 56 Crowns.

Not to mention those of us who use 2H weapons like bows and staffs, can't/won't wear it anyway. Possible future set in the works?

Crown of p wasnt worth wild to get (except for possibly dex crown for str gear). And this vanity is even less interesting... ill get one tops :)..

Same sprite as the campaign icon I think (The circus tent thing).

In my opinion, if they want to make a successful shield, a possible way is to sway away from the standard shape of the 'kite shield' and look for more unique shapes.

My personal favorite is the force kite shield series, very unique look.

Maybe add more layers towards a generic shield instead of changing the shape. The 61 shield now just looks like a big sticker was stuck to a blank plate, no offense.

It's not an actual shield, just vanity, unlike the COP which was an actual helm that went into the helm slot.

I agree with the move on making it a vanity, the biggest annoyance during the COP days was how it took up the helm slot and broke the set. Now that elite stuff (hopefully in the future) are vanities, they could be used on top of normal gear as well.

Would be cool for them to create some proper rings!!!! Seriously, that's the most overlooked item there is in PL. They could so some really fancy rings, really really rate ones hat give extra crit, hit, H/s etc. Would be cool.
And I really really love the idea of the Persistance set. And what would be even cooler would be for the entire set to move up as you lvl up. i.e. if you are 61, the COP moves up to 61 as well and then you get an armour, a shield, a blade, a wand, etc all the same.

Lol true, that's the only reason why I 56'd my bird the last time, for the dex crown :D
