Join friends says Level Up and I can't join

I've seen this posted before and now it's happening to me too. When I touch that button to join somebody in Numa it asks me to purchase 1 level. What's going on?

Apparently forcing the app closed (Don't exit normally then force it closed) manually in app management after pressing the Home key brings back Join and it works fine after that. Weird bug.
