Respeccing bird

I'm thinking of going Wand with STR armor helm and shield.... Anyone else tried this, is it any good?

You'll have basically no dex, so your skills will be, well, crap.

STR/DEX with a mace or dagger would be infinitely better.

This is what I think most archers do but I'm not 100% certain. So here's what it is: Put the least strength so that you can use your warbird gear then pump the rest into dex for max damage output. You can also equip dex gear and str gear at the same time so you can be dealing damage while taking damage at the same time and hopefully not dieing! ;)
