What's the point of the 3X Combo 30 min elixir?

The 'Wicked Dumpster Punch' is a 3X Combo Elixir for 30 min, 20 plat.
The 'Thrasher Pwnage Punch' is a 4X XP, rest 3X Combo Elixir for 60 min, 40 plat.

What motive does one have for choosing the Wicked Dumpster Punch, especially now that elixir duration is saved while being in a town? Also other than having than 20<plat<40, why would one choose the Wicked Dumpster Punch?

I noticed this earlier just looking around the plat shop, is this some sort of overlooked pricing error?

Yeah, it's supposed to be, but in terms of price,

2x of 3X Combo Elixir for 60 min = 40 plat
1x of 4X XP + rest 3X Combo Elixir for 60 min = 40 plat

They both have the same price, but the 4X Combo gives 4X XP versus 3X XP from the 3X Combo.

Anyone smart enough would just use the 4X combo and avoid the 3X combo completely.

I've used it while leveling a twink. If I think 30 minutes is enough to reach the level, I'll just buy the 3x since I'd rather not spend 20 more plat if it isn't gonna go to use:)

All things considered, it's just basic up-selling. Why spend 20 plat when you can spend 40? The point of the 20 plat elixir is for you to see it, then see the 40 plat one and buy that instead.

Elly, I noticed it too, and it seems like a pricing error, there was another one where the 30 min one was cheaper than the 60 min one if I recall correctly.

Other than the 'not enough plat' issue, so it's just a dummy combo? The 4x combo is exactly the same price with the 3x one, except the 4x one has a 4x XP elixir versus the 3x XP elixir of the 3x combo only.

If talking about a better 'bang for your platinum' and you only had 20 plat, I think it'd be better to buy the 2x combo elixir.

I guess it can be seen as half-empty or half-full; the 4x combo elixir is cheaper at 40 or the 3x combo elixir is too expensive at 20.

Actually I bought some of these already. Basically as Mystical said already, to level twinks. Why buy an hour elix if you can finish it in 30mins? There's no point in overshooting your target. So yeah, the reason it exists is just to give people an extra choice IMO :)
