View Full Version : Turn Dingy Crown into Vanity?

Should this be allowed? Since u could just buy 10 dingy crowns back then before crafting one? Now people can have a handful of CoP vanities, I don't think this was intentional.

Dingy crowns cost plat and were just going to collect dust in someone's stash. Most who just got one is simply a collector, so to them it's probably a hard decision to part with something that they were planning on keeping as a memento. I only had one CoP and don't collect anything so the decision for me was easy, but someone who has one of each crown (custom, fortified, enchanted) is going to have a tough time deciding which to part with. Now if they were lucky enough to save a dingy, then problem solved. This "bug" is only going to be used by a very few players; think of the player who made it to 56 but didn’t have the time to complete the quests offered by the Fallen Prince. Should they be left with a dingy crown?!

But they are not tradable so theres no harm

Harm isn't the issue.

The issue is the scenario where someone got one toon to L56, bought multiple dingy crowns, but never got any other characters to L56 in time, AND still is able to convert those dingy crowns into a vanity which can be used for a set bonus.

Exactly my point, thanks Drew.

Isn't harm the issue? The items cannot be traded or sold, they spent plat on multiple dingy crowns for no real reason besides hopes to be able to craft them into something in the future. Your senario is extreme and I find it hard to believe that someone would spend that much plat on a hope. If they indeed did, shouldn't they be able to cash in now? All it nets them is multiples of the same item so they don't have to stash it everytime they switch toons. For the set bonus they're going to have to grind to 61 on multiple toons also, and if they cannot accomplish that they'll only have a bunch of extra vanity crowns laying in stash. I agree that it may be an oversight to be able to craft the dingy into a vanity crown, but I fail to see the harm it can cause.

Like I said,

Harm isn't the issue. So let me get this straight. The issue is that instead of them having to take the crown off, stash it, then switch characters, go to stash, remove from stash, equip, get set bonus. They can just have more than one crown. O.o

I suggest they make it unstashable. This way all the real hardcore 56 chars get to enjoy their well deserved reward and recognition.

I don't think it was intentional, but I guess it doesn't matter that much. They will still have to get as many chars to 61 to use the bonuses.

The issue is that someone can keep their custom, fortified, or enchanted crown of persistence, and still have the vanity crown of persistence.

Someone has already posted that they have done this. They had all three crowns of persistence, and had extra dingy crowns (don't ask me why). This individual turned one of the dingy crowns into the vanity.

Your statement of they “had extra dingy crowns” and you don't know why is the exact point here, they had the hunch to buy a potentially worthless lump of coal and now have the option to turn it into a diamond. I see no wrong with that; this just seems to be another case of some didn't do it so now they're a bit upset. Again, only a few players out there bought a dingy without any intention of crafting it into a crown so why are we so focused on this issue?

Honestly I think that STS did this on purpose so they can introduce the Deal of the Day: Dingy crowns, for a low low price of 100 plat (craftable into vanity crowns).

The vanity Crown of Persistence will be made no stash.

Should probably give a little warning to the person when they are converting their crowns to vanity about the fact that it won't be stashable anymore.

Many people only have 1 crown of persistence, and move it between different characters. They need to make sure they know to pick the right character they want to have the new crown permanently.

I would hate to have converted my only crown with my non-main character, only to find out later that that character is stuck with that crown forever.

A friend met me last night and asked me why I hadn't converted my crown yet.
I replied, "Knowing the developers, something is fishy."
And I was exactly right.
I will remain with my crown there.
My suggestion into this is to simply give people who originally had their crown ANOTHER crown.
This way they could have a vanity and then another CoP.
To solve the problem, what they could do was simply make CoP and the vanity CoP non-equippable at the same time.
