"Jap is an English abbreviation of the word "Japanese." Today it is generally regarded as an ethnic slur among Japanese minority populations in other countries, although English-speaking countries differ in the degree to which they consider the term offensive. In the United States, Japanese Americans have come to find the term controversial or offensive, even when used as an abbreviation. In the past, Jap was not considered primarily offensive; however, during and after the events of World War II, the term became derogatory." (from wikipedia)

you can disable it by simpl going to options, and disable the chat filter

Yeah happens a lot and is easily done unintendely by most players. One word could be harmless in one language and could mean something quite rude in another language.

i dont get whats the point of even havaving that chat filter on if somebody wants to say something offensive , its easy to by pass aslong as you know how it works ... IMO its causing more harm than good . ( i never saw that "filter" prevent trash talk in pvp or anywhere else , but i did see it mute poeple for saying normal every days words )
