Why do people like new and unique vanities?

I don't get why people spent two weeks playing an event in this game to get a vanity item and a jewel.

A lot more than 5 actually since people tied up at the top of the lb. More like 10 or so.

If I wanted to influence people I would've posted during the event. Plus I'm far too busy to even run for the top of the lb so it wouldn't help me anyways. I just try and make plat tier to sell off the rewards. What I'm trying to figure out is what the reasoning behind it is. It looks cool I'll admit, but IMHO it's not much different from the normal ghost sets that are 1k gold each.

Well I actually think that the lb winners got one of each Exquisite order jewel, so that would be 24 mil. The sets are being sold at about 8 mil each. That's still 15 mil short though. And these people are selling their vanities, which means they ran the event in order to make money.

Congrats to all those that achieved lb for the event, AWESOME.
Was fun to watch the various players jossle for positions ..... specifically the last day?!?!?
Top 5 vanities of each class are awesome, very exclusive, and very valuable in both gold and huge "kudos" for such hard work and dedication.
To achieve over 200,000 event points is just mind boggling @_@

Running event LB is a unique experience that' not for everyone, I ran it winter 2015 just to see hows its like and i must say you have to be ready physically mentally and socially! I shouldve run warrior or mage dang it! :D

I'm a huge fan of vanities and try to collect them all! Well, minus these 50m sets because it would bankrupt me. Out of all my vanities, I still find the most comfort in the untradable elite journeyman. It reminds me that you don't need gold to get what you want, but rather just play the game and be happy!

It's a game. Some people want a time distractor. Others want a hardcore all-out challenge. I am sure there are others who want other things. People play the game however they want. It's good to see event lb runners.
