As I saw the news that skins for a few characters had been released for Call of Champions I instantly started wishing they would have lore, as I am a huge nerd on the character lore. When I saw they apparently did not, I decided that I'd write my own.

I will be writing from the perspective that the skins are alternate paths the character could have taken, as in Seraphinas official lore she leaves the realm of light, and her skin is the captain of the elite guard in what most likely is the realm of light, so it makes more sense if this was an alternate path rather than being a continuation of her story. Since I will be looking at it this way, please do read her actual lore before reading my alternate version. That being said, I hope you enjoy my fanlore on how Seraphina ended up Captain of the elite guard, please tell me if you would like to hear more for other or future skins!

As Seraphina picked up Ambrios, the Twilight Spear, and learned the truth about her childhood hero she felt terribly betrayed. The mighty hero Havok had been the reason she worked her way up to the Heofen Elite. For all of her life she had carried a wish to find his famous spear and be the one to free him from the evil demon sealing him, and now it was all for nothing. Her hero was not trapped by a mighty demon, he'd left the realm! Angered, she threw the spear on the ground and cast a powerful spell of sealing on it to prevent anyone from finding it and thereby knowing about Havoks decision to leave the realm. Seraphina felt a sense of duty filling her chest, and a wish to give the coming generations stories based on truth. Disappointed in her foolishness that had believed the fairytales, the female angel swore to herself that she would be more powerful than all her childhood heroes had been in even the boldest of legends. As she left the ruins where she'd found the weapon she decided to return there only when her strength had grown enough. When she gained power enough to battle the strongest of the strongest she would use the spear, as a tribute to the dreams that got her so far in life.

For the next four years Seraphina trained day and night, making her body stronger and more durable. She became close to unbeatable with a spear in preparation for the day she would finally be the one to wield the fabled Ambrios. This training went on until one day when she woke up to the sound of a knock on her door. A extremely large man she'd never seen before stood outside, dressed in the legendary golden armor of the elite guard. He carried a sword on his back that seemed way too big for a normal man to lift. Fortunately however, this man was most certainly not normal. The armors and weapons of the elite guard were said to be made by the mastersmith Grimnir himself, and according to the legends they made the user able to combat even the full power of the gods. The man had a very strong aura of power around him, and when he spoke his voice was the one of a man that is not used to be questioned. The man told Seraphina that she had been called to visit the archangel and undisputed leader of the realm of light, Gabriel. Seraphina quickly fetched her combat gear and walked with the man towards the great castle that was the home of the Heofen council and Gabriel himself.

Upon arriving, she was escorted to Gabriels private chambers at the top of the building. As she entered, the doors closed behind her with a loud click indicating that they'd been locked. The room was very large and mysteriously enough very lit up, despite there being no lamps or windows of any sort. Seraphinas eyes searched for Gabriel, and when she spotted him she was surprised she had not seen him earlier. He was standing at the back of the room, observing her. When she'd seen him, he spoke. With a deep voice, he told her to become one of the elite guard. It was obvious by his tone that this request only had one acceptable answer. Without waiting for her answer, he waved for her to come toward him. As she came closer, she noticed something odd about a thing that she'd at first glance thought was merely another one of the many statues and works of art decorating the room. It was not a statue, but rather an armor stand wearing the armor of the elite guard, perfectly fitted for her. She put the armor on, feeling a rush of excitement as she realised this was the perfect start to her dreams. On her way home she realised she had entered the room as a strong warrior, and left the room as someone who will go down in history. This was the time to start wielding Ambrios, and become stronger than all legends!
