THE SOLO BOARDS - Ongoing Unofficial Contest

This contest is for recognition of players who defeat bosses solo. I will add your accomplishment to the list if you post it in your reply to this thread, including the following information:

Class (Bear/Bird/Mage), Name of Your Character, character level, Boss Name, Date of Boss Fight, **Elixer status** (no elixers, gold elixers, plat elixers)

Here is an example:

Mage, Prismatix, Level 52, Goldfever, 9/21/11, no elixers

The rules:
1. Honesty - Since the nature of the contest is solo, you have to report your own accomplishment. The accuracy of your statements is on your honor.

2. You must defeat the boss all by yourself, even if other players helped you clear the map. That means: no other player went in the boss room, no other player engaged in boss fighting or aggro, no one revived you or helped keep the boss from resetting. If you can think of any other way a player could help you, that's also against the rules. (Haha, thought you were going to get me there, didn't you?)

3. You can use any distribution of stat points for your character build.
4. All gear including rings and vanity items is allowed.
5. Each character class will be represented on the boards, so each boss will have Bear, Bird, and Mage listing slots.
6. Only the lowest level player in each class will be posted; if you are on the board and a lower level player of the same class defeats that boss, you will be bumped from the board.
7. If you do not include all of the information stated above, your accomplishment will not be added to THE SOLO BOARDS
8. You must post here within 10 days of the Boss win; for example, if your game was on September 16, you have until September 26 to post. Clarification: If entries are submitted for the same boss by two or more characters of the same class and level, entries will be added based on earliest posting, not earliest date.

I will attempt to keep this updated, but please be patient because I have no idea yet what the volume of responses will be. Suggestions and feedback about this contest are welcome. I will fill in the individual bosses when I have more time. And yes we already know that you can solo the Galactic Overlord with your level 1 twink, haha.

I did consider including details about build and gear, etc. but I couldn't think of an efficient way to include it in the listing. Since the character names will be posted, it may generate discussion about what gear they used and how the battle went.

I decided to make it more of an open concept, in that you can try with any resources available to you for you class at a given level. That way a player my attempt a boss, upgrade gear, attempt again, respec, hybridize or whatever, and find the build they can actually defeat him with.

Anyway, it's all for fun, and if you think of an easy way to include other info please let me know.

I also thought of allowing a short comment on the line, like "enchanted wand set" or "took 35 minutes" or "dex bear" etc

I've soloed most of the bosses in Sewers.

With a level 56 enchanted staff pure int mage, it took about 6 minutes to solo Gold Fever and 3 minutes to solo trash heap. Elixirs must be used for queen, because she heals 2,800 every 5s IIRC, and the goblin king, because the totem has too much hp (although I do recall they nerfed it, so may be not anymore). I'm not sure it is possible to solo Coakroach as mage. The best mage spells are all AOE and you can hit the garbage bins. It is however possible to solo the Coakroach as bird or bear.

Great info, thanks for adding to the discussion. It is an interesting question to wonder what is even theoretically possible. I attempted bandit queen on my 52 mage with gold elixers (1.5x tank and damage), and even then she healed so fast that I couldn't make significant progress before the elixers wore off. I wonder how these things will change with new lvl cap and gear. Does a 61 mage in demonic gear and vanity set bonus have a chance at queen, goblin king or Cockroach? Is solo still out of range at that level?

Roach is easy to solo as a mage. Just use a staff and kite. No elixirs needed.

In theory, no elixirs are needed. But it would take forever and when he buffs, he can one hit KO a pure int. You can't always time mana shield and potions have a delay.

Remember, you can't use lightning, ice storm, or fire for fear of blowing the bins. So you are left with auto, frostbite, and drain.

Lvl 53 mage. Stealthyman. Shadow caves I cleared. 26/09/11. No elixirs. Using lowmans set. Also killed Gurg solo. 26/09/11. Gold elixir. Same day. Also killed Keeper solo. No elixirs :-D 26/09/11.

Nuri's hallows-Snake Charmer 27/9/11, approx. 15 mins, no elixirs. Tip: Keep hiding behind pillars so you dodge the grey blast that makes your legs in to stone, that spam all your skills and so on. (avoiding grey blast makes you immune to the one hit blast)

That kind of tone is not necessary and has a negative effect on your credibility. I did not call you a liar - I said that I doubted your claim that he would never touch you.

I have only ever attempted it once on my mage and died, although this was several months ago. I have not since attempted it. I remain highly skeptical of your claim. Seeing as there is no way to verify and your attitude, I will remain doubtful. The other question is what is your build. I imagine that a mage with dex/str based build could do it, although it will take a long time. Dex weapon, str gear. Pally is also probable although it would take even longer.

However, I have done it and have seen others do it on my bird. It can also be done on bear, although stomp must be carefully used.

Let's just say that around here, even if you are as skilled as you claim to be, it will all be for naught if you let your ego get in the way.

Build is a hybrid str/int. But, again, it doesn't matter because Roach will never touch you. I used a Sewer Queen set.

Bears can do it too but they must be able to wield a ranged weapon. I did it with a Sewer King bow. Never used Stomp. Only skills used Evade, Iron Blood, Restore, Rage, and Taunt. (Evade, Iron Blood, and Restore out of habit) I do not know of any way to do it without a ranged weapon.

Walkswitharis lvl 1 bird, no elixir, can solo all of Forest Haven maps, mobs and bosses! Sorry no date as I forgot but can demonstrate any time, just if anyone wants to be in the dungeon they must be a lvl 1. But for fun can take my lvl 60 bear, Ariskabar, use 2x/30 min elixir, and do 6 runs on the Snake Charmer solo...just did this today 10 minutes before system said shut down a few minutes ago. Takes 7 min on the lion and tamer with 2x, also today...so more profitable on snake!

Remember everyone, every character class will be represented for each boss, and separate slots are available for no elixer, gold-purchased elixer, and plat-purchased elixer. If you use the free daily elixer, that should go in the plat elixer section.

If you were not added to the boards, I may not have been able to understand your entry. If you use the standard format, it is very easy for me and saves detective work and retyping.

Remember, if you want to bump someone from the boards, you have to defeat the same boss with a lower level toon.

Cockroach kiting with solo mage confirmed.

After the friendly debate earlier on this thread, I went to see if it was possible to solo the cockroach. I defeated him, but that was with my lvl 60 mage in glyph staff of charmin set. Anyone want to bump me off of the board with a 55 mage in enchanted or sq? I did find that he didn't touch me if I kept a consistent, wide kiting circle in the room. He only hit me once, fortunately my mana shield was up :)

Bandit Queen solo fail fail win

Attempted Queen without elixers - heals way too fast
Bought 1.5x damage elixer for gold - Depleted her health approx 30% before elixer wore off
Went to start of map for free daily 3x combo elixer, ran yellow-fast to boss (map was clear), defeated queen, damaged king about 1/2, almost finished king without elixer, lag death, killed king with 1.5x damage gold elixer.

Mages without fire which pushes the target back have no equal to repulse. It's inevitable that he will get a few shots. If he's buffed, you will die. If unbuffed, you can usually get a few pots and live.

As one person said above, video or it never happened.

Watched him do it. It really happened. He had to prove it since I didn't believe it either.

As for posting for friends:
At this time I am concerned that it may become problematic if I open up the entry system in that way. Here are some reasons:
1. When you post, you are taking responsibility for the veracity of your claim. I don't see a clear way to extend that responsibility to someone who isn't a forum member.
2. There is no way to tell if the player in the entry actually wanted their boss feat posted, even if they actually did it.
3. It would be a good thing if this encouraged forum participation, there is so much great information available that it is a win-win to create a (free!) forum account.

Now, I may be overlooking some things.....
Are there players who want to be represented on the boards who actually have no way of accessing the forum?
Who is excluded from this ongoing competition due to circumstances beyond their control?
Is it possible to create a system of legitimate proxies who could post for players that are not able to access the forum?

I would greatly appreciate input on this issue. THE SOLO BOARDS are for all of us, and I would like to make entering as open as possible so long as integrity is maintained. If anyone has thoughts on this, please discuss.

Very astute! I was waiting for someone to make note/take advantage of this. Take notice everyone, unless some major change is made with the minimum level requirements for each map, Adullam can never be bumped from Wildwood!

Been soloing this boss with mage since lvl 55, but always used 1.5x damage and tank elixers (gold) in the past.

Also, I'm thinking about flipping the main list upside-down so that the most recent campaigns/bosses are on top... Any comments or objections?

Nice idea, and nice job soloing OL with a mage. I'll do it on my 56 bird, but I did it regularly with my 50 bird (its been a few more than 10 days ago however :P)

Also, I know this isn't immune to cheating, but a SS taken before the boss and after would at least help to verify, and show that only one person got the drop.
