Not fake:) Ever since they made the COP able to be crafted into a vanity, it's acted as a vanity even when it's not crafted, but the vanity slot isn't filled, allowing you to wear one with it. As for the shield, vanity shields have been bugged for a while sadly.

As for the vanity shields, I sent a mail to the devs a while back about this. They said that they were aware of the issue, and a fix was in the works :)
