Yes if it attacks. But I highly recommend nekro.

Recommending nekro to someone asking for aspen may not be very productive :) . Yes, it probably has the best overall passive ability, but...
There are a lot of pets that can reduce enemy's armor on attack and it's likely that in a party some people will have some of those pets (only one armor debuf is applied, so many pets cannot add many armor debufs). The chance for the debuf to be applied is also different for the different pets - for instance slobber always debufs armor (on every attack), while others pets may debuf (very) rarely. Should be tested.
It may also depend on the pet's level - on high pet level, the pets that apply armor debufs are:
5% Amy, George
10% Bismark, Cinder, Guapo, Aspen, Ethyl, Grave, Konga, Uries, Spitfire, Entomis, Sentinel, Porkchop, Titan, Boris, Granite, Haze, Malison, Snappy, Rammington, Sassy, Yowie, Nightshade, Glacian, Shady and Surge, Munch Mouth
15% Dovabear, Little Bear, Shade, Slobber, Abaddon, Lemon and Lime, Scorch, Maridos, The Brothers Whim, Stampy
20% Blinky, Grimm, Nekro, Singe
?% Tyrannica
