Overlord Returns campaign, Wrath of the Overlord map, get the shadow essence if you can, and the ring can can drop from either narel or the dark archer person that spawn from having the elixir. If you do not wish to buy the elixir, I believe it can be farmed from the boss at the end of Wrath of the Overlord but I am not 100% sure. Hope this helps!

Personally I have seen The Overlord's Warband ring drop from Narel map 5 using shadow essence and from Rehk map 2.
My friends have advised me the elite ring drops from all mini bosses in all maps including Mansu ,Obska and Treth as well as Harbinger's.
