 if you only want friends to join your game, why do you NOT have a password on your game? It's rude to boot ppl because you feel like being lazy with making your game.

Stop doing this please?

Sometimes u have only 3 friends with you so u make a public game then suddenly a random person joins and at that same time your best friends goes online and ask if u r full? Of course u r gonna boot the random that just joined if u haven't started running yet.

Booting, whilst frustrating, is a very valid part of the game.

There's two sides to the issue, but I suspect you don't want all the info, as it's been repeatedly discussed. More than happy to though if needed.

You can only control your actions, and there a couple of useful quick things you can do. When searching for games check the levels for the map. People could be scaled farming... Ie all 51/52 in Balefort Sewers.

But the single most useful thing you can do is ask when you join? I have "mind if I join ya?" in my quick slot. Use it every time, and they'll soon tell you if you're welcome or not...

Sometimes hard to find a good random group, so make friends when you do and join them when your on. Also consider joining an active Guild.

It's not always possible to lock games... Good Luck with it.

PS. What level/class are you? You might get some offers by just posting on the forums. Plenty of people looking to team up.

Also, until the password bug is fixed, I imagine this will continue.

I've only experienced this once but sometimes when I'm selling stuff and someone wants to trade then every time I go to the window it says (IGN has left the trade window) then I enter it again and again and it says the same thing.

Agree 100%. Booting is necessary under the right conditions. Best thing I learned to do is not take it personal when it happens, because sometimes your on the one side of the boot, sometimes the boot is yours. Just stay away from the steel tipped boots lol ;-)

Whilst the password issue is maybe a technical one, the original poster wasn't referring to that, so general seems fine. I'd hate for a reletively newer poster to feel they'd made some horrible mistake. Fair play for highlighting a possible wrongly placed thread, but let's not discourage anyone from posting even if it might be in the wrong place.

No great worries either way though, but 10/10 for effort. lol

My usual groups have been having 'Invalid password' issues, so we've resorted to PUB+the boot button.

I also have a quick hit "may I join you?" button, seems the most effective. I've even been told, sure until a friend is available, then we'll ask you to leave. No hard feelings, and I'm sure the hosts appreciate the option, especially now that passwords are messed up.

Everybody plays their own way. :) Personally, I don't boot much--6 times in over a year of PL and not at all yet in SL. But then I only boot if someone's being a jerk. If a friend suddenly pops on, I figure they can manage to hold on for the whole 2 minutes or so it'll take to do the run and then I'll remake and they can join. Personally, I'd rather someone just said, "sorry full" and let me take my leave instead of assuming I'll be jerky about it and booting me; in other words, it's the implication I find insulting, not the boot itself. I also always try to remember and ask if they mind my joining and yeah, I'd appreciate it if it's a guild-only run (and if the password system were working properly), if they'd just password the thing. Saves everyone an annoyance.

I've been soloing some levels lately for the fun of it, and with the current PW bug, I can't protect from others sometimes joining.

When I do boot them, I try to do so quickly so they don't waste time, and I usually do it with something fun like:

"Eek! I'm naked"
"Showering. come back later"
"I smell like a dead vular/director/etc. stay back"

Trying to keep the fun spirit going to the game, yet still play my style when I want.

If I have booted anyone like this, no offense was intended. Just doing my own thing sometimes.

SO that's why I couldn't make a locked game! :stupid:

Oh yeah btw when making thread titles don't use gods name in vain. It offends people (including me) who believe in the lord.

Is this the only reason you replied to this thread? If you think my post is so offensive, please report it instead of trying to open a can of worms. Thank you.

Whatever happen to asking someone to kindly leave because youre waiting for someone. I know many people have asked me to leave the game cause theircwaiting on a friend and I have absolutely no problem with it. Lol

I completely agree with this. This is all I ask also. Inventing weird comments in the comment box when you boot people is pretty lame :)
