It can be even if it's not EXACT same time kills, latency, skill delay etc can cause this & some skills are by default bit delayed, those skills cause it mostly.

I'm guessing DOT kills get credited after the final score is tallied.

I think people can swap teams and it shows their total kills from both teams while only showing their name in the color team they were last on after the game.
