Help with level 61 pve build

I am usually running elite citadel and mausoleum. But I seem to die very quickly lol. My current setup is.
Level 61 dusk staff assault (3% int and 100 armor) 1 fortified mind
Level 61 dusk hood assault full fortified mind
Level 61 dusk armor assault full fortified mind
Illuminated belt for mage full excellent mind
Arcane ring full excellent mind
Planar pendant full excellent mind
Pets I use are shady and surge and singe

I'm running
Fire
Shield
Heal
Gale

1. You should be using Brutality gear not assault.

2. Use Level 51 Flame Forged or Level 56 Immortal Staff, they provide extra stats and far better proc than Dusk/Light weapons.

3. Avoid using heal in PVE, when u use heal u take mob's aggro on yourself. I see you don't have Clock as well. For a PvE mage, Clock is kind of a mandatory spell for it's damage and crowd control ability. Try this build:

Fire - 4/5 - "Sorch" not required.
Gale - 5/5
Clock - 4/5 - "Time Bomb" upgrade not required.
Shield - 4/5 - "Displacement Wave" not required."

Passive: 5/5 armor, 5/5 INT, STR, DEX

Mastery:
a. 10/10 shield
b. 10/10 Gale

Gale mastery removes curse/stun/debuffs and helped me in keeping alive in maus runs.

After spending your skills points as I mentioned you'll have 3 extra skill points, use them as you please.
