Hey, so I started AL a few days ago. I used to play PL, but AL seems to be more fun at the moment. Arcane Legends has better graphics and a fantastic PvE. I leveled a sorcerer up to L40, then I decided that I wanted to go with rogue, so I deleted my sorcerer XD. Any way, now my rogue is L40.

I'm loving this game so far, but both in rogue and sorcerer, I have encountered some obstacles.

- Rogues need too many mana pots and sorcerer needs too many health potions. Is there any way to sort out the rogue problem at least, since that's what I'm going with now.

- I've been playing PvE alone for the majority of the time. This is kind of frustrating; with so many players online at the same time, it's still hard to find someone to clear a map with. The maps are easy enough but the lack of players makes it unnecessarily slow and boring.

- L35+ is difficult to play. The quests end after L40, and even to get those 5 levels from 35 to 40, you need to run countless maps several times - alone.... Both with sorcerer and rogue, I got stuck after L40. I'm not in a hurry to level up, and leveling up shouldn't be easy either, but for me it's either leveling up, making gold, or PvP - and I don't know how to do any of them at this level.

- Lastly, I haven't got the opportunity to PvP so far, but I have seen some videos. From what I can gather, AL PvP isn't anything special. A team match involves players constantly spamming skills in the middle of the crowd. Kind of like a 3 v 3 pally fight in PL, if anyone knows what I'm talking about. Maybe I've been watching the wrong videos?

What I would like right now is some guidance either on how to level up from 40, or on how to make gold at this level. Thanks in advance :welcoming:

If the maps are difficult, it might be that you need to upgrade your gear. Spend some time finding good gear, jeweling and maybe a better pet as well. Also, consider having both classes at the same time. Sometimes if you are stuck on one, playing on the other helps you play w your original.

There are daily xp quests in Kraag, kraken, stronghold, and Nordr...

Hey Welcome to AL :) I hope I'm not too late to interest you in joining the warrior fold :D just kidding xD Mages are the best and a really fun class to play also easier on the pocket because they hardly need potions except when there is no Tank in the team. If you are getting hit too hard do what Fyrce said and get some gear from the auction houses present in the cities of Arlor that will make you tougher, also time your shield skill to protect yourself from large hoardes or special boss attacks, your ability to timely stun or freeze the mobs around you will also improve your and your party members' survival rate. All this can be best learnt in Mage/New players guides section and practice :). And the only thing that I can say about pvp from my limited experience is - It looks easy and chaotic from far but when you start to really observe you will notice many little details and precise-moves pulled by people.

You might be thinking that I totally looked over the fact that you swapped mage for a rogue, I did not...Mages>Rogues in PVE and always have a place in team going for pvp. Go back, Get blue before its too late! :D
For xp, do the dailies or go to the Kraag-tombs, you will find many people similar to your level there crunching for xp.
Gold at your level can be best earned by spending it the least, save the little trickle you get from the dailies and buy gear only when you know its essential. Best gold opportunities surface when you are at end-game and/or when STS releases some event.

I can't help you much as I'm fairly new to the game too... However you mentioned the lack of players to clear maps with and I've witnessed the same thing. I'm totally in for some runs so hit me up in game! especially given I'm at the same level range as you!

My ign:
-Rogue --> Outling L44
-Sorcerer --> Leapquest L41
-Warrior --> Gregogre L36

Otherwise my knowledge is very limited about ways to earn gold but from what I've understood, AL is much more centred around farming than PL (I'm also a former PL player).
The idea is to get a leprechaun pendant (15% reroll chance, costs 180k in cs) and luck elixirs (30% increased luck) if you have the budget (12k per elixir, or 4 platinum), and farm away for crates and eggs.
Otherwise you can always try to merch your way through, but I'm a bit clueless in that sector... I have no idea what the prices are and am overwhelmed by the diversity of items!
Also keep in mind gold is much harder to obtain in this game than in PL... MUCH harder... good luck!

Find yourself a guild, this is a great way to meet other players and you can join together to move faster. It is hard alone and can be frustrating but when 4 player click they can move so fast, it is a lot of fun. Do the daily quests and the bard for story tokens. Get the merchant permit then you can buy better quality gear. When deciding which quests to do look for the ones with the most xp points and the ones that give you the most gold, it's easier to level up. See Boltag and Old Yoddeler for special quests. As far as PvP, I just do the maps and quests. When I tried the guild competition battlefields, I just got clobbered, never saw it coming. There were better players that were built for this. Stick to what is fun, it just keeps getting better and there are new maps to discover. I started out as a rogue and then switched to a sorcerer. I am level 61 now and really like this character. As you level up you get stronger.

Hello, I've been pretty inactive on AL due to my inability to commit to the game. I'm sorry if I haven't replied to anyone's offers for help. I just haven't been playing. I'm sure you'd get pretty annoyed if I consistently never showed up. As of now I can't spend too much time on AL, that's why I am a bit irritated by the solo - oriented game play rather than the pick up and play style. Like you can't play for 15 minutes at a time and progress any further. You need a dedicated couple of hours at once to do something useful.

There are daily quests that help you level. There should be a thread in the Guide section.

Maps will mostly be empty until you reach endgame. There's almost nothing worth running the low level maps for; maybe the Elites are an exception, given the new released APs. Plus, you'll never meet lvl61's (a good chunk of the players that do pve) when going random maps at lvl40, I think you'll only be matched with other level ~36-44.

Get used to the potions, you can't play without them xD.
There's a few mana pets that heal a bit, although I don't think people will be too happy about you using them. They're also too weak to really help you much.
The only exception is Mishi. It costs a little bit though, and you'll only break even after saving half a million mana potions.

The lower maps are easy now. If you are having trouble, you are under level or under geared or under pet. Personally I find solo easier at the sub-endgame levels, mostly due to over leveled, subgeared, subpet people who were power leveled and have no idea how to play. They make the midlevel dungeons very difficult.
