Some Questions

Was doing some PL math (why doesn't a l71 rhino charge redemption combo one shot a sharp mage) and the math just didn't come out right sooo...

1) Does the rhino combo make redemption do 2x damage

2) Is 1 armor -1 damage from whatever source

3) The 40% global damage reduction calculated as in a) 40% less damage from all sources (ex. fire damage is reduced by 40%, then buffs, debuffs, crit, and armor is calculated as damage taken) or b) damage is calculated first then reduced by 40% (ex. fire base damage + buffs, debuffs, crit, and armor for damage done then the 40% damage reduction comes in)

4) Is a crit 2x damage

I can't answer one since I'm not familiar with rhino. For 2, yes, unless things have changed within the last year, damage and armor are on a 1:1 ratio. For 3, global damage is different from a skill damage reduction. Physiologic made a chart showing the process it goes through:

Assuming that answers your question. Any reduction would presumably take place when the damage variable is initially rolled, or calculated as it says in the chart. Armor would be the last factor before damage is delivered.

For 4, yes, crits are 2x the damage. That is to say assuming nothing has changed. I haven't tested stats and damage output in years, and anything I haven't tested would be based on Phys' testings, which are also years old.

Thanks to everyone :). I figured out why. My math was wrong

550 is around max for redemption so I did the math as following:
550 x .4 = 330 x 2 (combo) x 2 (crit) = 1320 - 280 (armor) = 1040
which is way more than my 520 health pool

The way I did it now is
550 x .4 = 330 - 280 (armor) = 50 x 2 (combo) x 2 (crit) = 200
which seems more reasonable when you factor in rhino damage buff

.4 would be to figure out 40% of the damage figure, not to reduce 40% from it. 330 is the correct number though, so he probably just made an error typing and not calculating.
