Arcane artifact math 101

Hey Folks!

I believe that not im the only one who did the math about it. But i just wanted to help those who havent don it yet. So here it is.


Raw ingredients to craft an arcane artifact

25 magna fragments = 1 magna rune
25 victus fragments = 1 victus rune


Rare artifact needs:
10k gold
1 common artifact (500 plat in store or can be looted from boss)
10 magna runes (250 magna fragments)
10 victus runes (250 victus fragments)

Epic artifact needs:
20k gold
1 rare artifact
20 magna runes (500 magna fragments)
20 victus runes (500 victus fragments)

Legendary arrifact needs:
40k gold
1 epic artifact
40 magna runes (1000 magna fragments)
40 victus runes (1000 victus fragments)

Mythic atrifact needs:
80k gold
1 legendary artifact
80 magna runes (2000 magna fragments)
80 victus runes (2000 victus fragments)

Arcane artifact needs:
160k gold
1 mythic artifact
160 magna runes (4000 magna fragments)
160 victus runes (4000 victus fragments)

So we need these amounts in total to craft an arcane artifact:
500 platinum or a lucky boss loot or auc
310k gold
7750 magna fragments
7750 victus fragments

Common artifact already 200k in auction and not even 1 day yet...

You forgot some other math. In one normal run you can loot only 1 fragment. That means you need 15500 fragments.

If you average 8 a day (3 dailies, 5 hourly), it will take you 5.3 years to farm arcane artifact. If you pay for premium runs, it will take you a minimum of 387 days (assuming you loot the max of 5 fragments every run). BUT this would also take 3100 runs to get the 15500 fragments.

Paying for all of those would cost 77,500 plat, which is $4103 USD worth of plat. It would be 2.5 times cheaper still to buy all 620 runes from those 50 runes for 2500 plat packs, but even that would cost around $1640 USD.

But do you really have any other option?? Even if you do NOTHING BUT play AL to grind for this quest, it will take you 2 years. That means sleep deprivation, no job, no socialising, no nothing. For 2 years. So lets be honest, simply farming for Arcane artifact is out of the question.

This is severly broken and needs fixing.

Nope, i did not forgot that part. I just dont want to go that deep. Because one of my guildies said that he looted 3 fragments in one run, then 0 fragments in the other run. Idk if its true or not, ive been ran the new map 4 times only, and looted 1 fragment in each run.

Yes this truly is messed up. They need to change this is some way in order to make this doable. Some suggestions i have are:

1. Get rid of token system. Allows for hardcore farmers to do unlimited runs, which would lower prices of all infredients making it more affordable.

2. Have more fragments dropping per run. Very rarely have I gotten more than 1 drop. If this was increased anywhere from 3-7, this would not be near as hard. It still costs a good chunk of gold to craft this, and I feel the crafting ingredients should then be cheaper.

3. Add fragment/runes/hier tier artifacts into locked crates. This will speed things up and allow plat players to gamble to try and get and upgrade artifacts.

4. Add higher tier artifacts to the store for plat. 500 plat for a common artifact (current store offer) is rediculous. If higher tier ones were added for plat, even if it costed 1k plat for mythic/arcane, people would buy and at least add something to the market.

Not all of these ideas have to be included, but I feel something definantly has to be done in order to make artifacts farmable. As the math proves, the artifact system is flawed to the point that it is nearly impossible to obtain arcane artifacts without spedning insane amount of plat or an even more insane amount of time. Nobody wants to farm an item non stop for 5 years.

I wrote a long post about suggestions to possibly fix this but it says a moderator has to approve zzzz. Long story short, they need to impliment new ways to obtain fragments/runes/artifacts in order for anyone to get hier tier artifacts.Right now its an insane amount of plat and an even more insane amount of time to farm this. I really hope they change things soon so we can realisticly start to obtain these.
