Apparently, rings are no longer stash-able. I don't know when that happened, but I have rings in stash that match rings that I recently purchased. The stashed rings can be freely share among my characters. They look identical to the new rings that cannot be stashed.
I think there should be clear indicators on items to tell if they can be stashed or sold. It would influence my decision to not buy an item if I know I can't stash it. And, I don't want to be surprised to find that I cannot share an item.
For example, I bought a cowboy hat with stats when I first started PL. Sometimes, I like to give that hat to new my characters. It has decent stats (perhaps not the best but good enough). At some point, my character would get a better hat, so the cowboy hat goes back to stash. I certainly wouldn't buy a temporary hat that could not be stashed. If I know I will only use it a few levels I would rather get a dropped item than one that costs plat and cannot be stashed.
