Hi guys, we all have a preferred character at the Level Cap, while the others just remain dormant in the background.

I like using my Bear, probably because I like the Warriors Skills, can use them pretty well, and have grown accustomed to the play style of the Warrior. Now when I switch to my Bird or Elf, I spend sometime getting re-use to them, in the process I die a bit and then I feel as if am missing something.

What are the benefits of having all characters fully maxed up and active when you have a preference for one? Unless in the future there is like a strictly class specific competition or an item/pet which is specific to a class.

only useful to big note yourself and show how cool you are, eg.
"I rock so hard and am the leet player cause I have all my char slots full of maxed out geared PC's"

To me it's getting the chance to fully enjoy this game in all aspects of game play :) Or simply put, I get to enjoy the game 5 times more than normal as I have 5 toons to level up. And No it's not epeen related to me (as most of the time, my toons do not have the best gear at all), it's just more fun to me :)

That is completely stupid.

Maneut has it right, for me atleast.

Alternate characters are good once your main is maxed and your waiting for new content :P.

I would agree with Manuet and Banned as well.

The other classes offer a different gameplay approach and could be useful in PvP as it offers some understanding of how each class skill works.

Ok, serious reply:

Playing all character types gives you knowledge of the characters strengths and weaknesses as well as playstyle required.

The difficulties and quirks of playing other characters then enhances your knowledge and playstyle of your main and leads to better groups.

It can also lead to stupid tanks that just cause they played a healer for a few low levels, consider they can yell "HEALZ" or "L2P"..

I am currently leveling an Archer to take advantage of the new Pure Boosts coming.

it's trivial to level a character 5 levels in this game when each expansion comes out, so if you want to it's easy have one of each archtype. considering there's little to do other then level and farm for pinks, and a 40 can farm as well as a 45 in AO2, you might as well level alts.

I have four chars that I play. I have a favorite, but they all bring different things to the table. The playing style required for dif chars is an example. As a paladin or Mage, my playing requires constant monitoring of other's health, positions, etc. Playing a bear or an archer build allows me to develop other skills. I also learn more about how each char plays within a team if I play them myself. Also, if there aren't new levels out, it's something new to do...

But, above all else, different characters are fun:D

I decided to restrict myself to a single character to eliminate any potential for time sucking alts.

Leveling my archer has become a chore. I still enjoy my Enchantress. My main is Ursan.

Violentsaint

my main is ofcorse violentsaint and is a paladin and i spend most of my time on him, ive gotten over 10000 kills on violentsaint.

ive always wanted to use crossbows and bows... their just stupidly oversized and look epic. but i could never bring myself to respecing violent to a bowchantress

thats why ive trained up a pure archer called snipersaint and i can enjoy running around with massive crossbows and own people with thorn root and blast shot.

snipersaint is currently lvl 40 and now that i have reached 10000 kills on violentsaint (somthing ive been working towards for a while) i will now start lvling up my archer.

i rly cant be bothered to make a warrior... maybe one day, but at the moment im happy with one hybrid and one pure :)

I don't find it to be a chore. I have several characters in the works. The hardest part for me is finding a decent low level group which doesn't cause my character to die unnecessarily. The worst part is that beyond level 23, you get into the dungeons nobody really wants to run anymore unless they're your level.
