Hm, the common consensus from what I've seen since the bow/dagger dmg change a few months back is that people will almost always use daggers since their stats are so much higher than with a bow, but will switch to bow if they need to kite a boss :)

It's really disappointing that bows have lost so much popularity and for good and bad reasons. They lack armor, appear to the naked eye to be weaker in normal damage, despite having the hidden 200% modifier, and have weaker skill damage.
The fact is I hate how clumsy daggers are. When spamming normal skills I only hit my target half the time!! It takes two hits to actually break a barrel, I mean c'mon!!
Bows are just more fluid and fun but because of stats are less desirable for the most part.

I wish STS could implement a way to do targeted normal attacks with daggers so they wouldn't be so terrible/clumsy with normal attacks :)

I definitely prefer bows though, just wish they had same armor as daggs.

Currently:
Bow - PvE only
Daggers - PvE and PvP

Originally (before the universal changes to bow and daggers):
Bow - PvE and PvP
Daggers - PvE and PvP

The developers stated that the aim of the changes was to ensure there is no weapon that was mass used in comparison to another.

I don't think it worked.

I'd just revert it back to the original system if I was them.

Thats a very inefficient way to play rogue. Razor does a LOT of damage, especially to tightly grouped mobs, and pierce is a rogues second highest single target damage skill.

Daggers are best for both pvp and pve because of the huge damage and armor difference.

Never ever use bows for mobs use only for bosses.

That's true, bows are just inefficient. The fantasy of being this bow-wielding goddess was too good to be true. Until bows are on-par with farming as daggers are, there just isn't enough upsides to use them outside of boss fights.

Well as for now ,
daggers are for mobs for faster large scale killing (armor and aoe(?) too though)

and bow is for the bosses because simply keeping range from boss :)

I hate using daggers, tried them, despised them and therefore it seems I'm useless now. Oh..except when there's nobody else to invite. I suffer in silence when other players point out to me that I really should use dragon blades and trap. I even watch indulgently has some well intentioned rogue demonstrates how to kill the enemy in a few simple moves (the demonstration usually takes place in tindirin wilds). I have tried but ended up reselling the offending blades and breathed a sigh of relief when my bow is back. I do use immo bow for bosses..I find the proc useful but then again the stats are quite embarrassing. Please accept the fact that some rogues prefer bows :)

If you use bows on mobs most pugs will leave you right away so better just use it with bosses only

With reference to my previous post..I have to say that the guild I am in always welcome me to the wild parties in maus. It's only the pugs that leave me high and dry. I'm not bitter...honest. :p :)

Depends on the guild too and guild members some are helpful some are selfish so choose your guilds wisely peeps :)

Two options I would love to see in the future:

1. Make dagger normal attacks auto-target when in close range to enemy. That would make daggers far less frustrating.

2. Give bows a AoE on impact. Chance of damage to mobs around target when hit. Does not work in PvP.

This would make both items more enjoyable in PvE in my opinion.
