Just found out to join the halloween event you need a new costume (10 plat minimum) to continue the quests and get halloween items.
Wow...
That's just a low move.

I'm pretty sure there is a quest to get a free costume, talk to the town cryer
I'm also glad I've saved my Tapjoy offers :o (I'm so frugal it's almost at the Scrooge level...)
